Jeff Green + Brandon Bass for Eric Gordon + 2014 2nd Rder. It works in the Trade Machine. Who says no?

Boston says no, they are Riggin for Wiggins, and while Eric Gordon does have a lot of experience driving the tank, he doesn't look like he's up to that task right now. Tanking teams don't acquire experienced talent. It's kind of the opposite of tanking. It only worked out for NO because Gordon got injured 2 years in a row. Bledsoe is blowing up the tank in Phoenix.

Jeff Green still is a likely target though. With his contract he'll only appeal to playoff teams who probably can only offer an expiring + a pick around 20. I think a package of Rivers/Aminu/Stiemsma has the potential to beat out packages based around late 1sts.

Gordon is the only one we should trade because his body is going to self destruct by the end of the season.

Yes he's one of the few bright spots on this year's team so far, but I am super skeptical that he can last long term.

Dealing 101: Sell high, buy low. EG is High right now, may get higher or may get hurt.

Obviously I would do it in a heartbeat, but it does leave you a bit thin at C.

But

Jrue
Gordon
Green
Davis
Smith

with Anderson, Tyreke, Morrow coming off the bench has great potential with the right coach.

This is where Phoenix playing well could gum up the works. They had been expected to buy Okafor out. Cap Room MLE and a starting position should be enough to add him when he's healthy, but if Phoenix is in the playoff mix they may not want to buy him out.

Still wish we'd gotten him in the Cp3 trade instead of Damaged Goods Gordon.

Oh, and Phoenix is not going to be "in the playoff mix"

Probably some picks and cash considerations thrown in there as well

To delve into your point about Tyreke (in the deleted thread)..

...Tyreke is certainly an upgrade over Billups.

Not sure about Stuckey, though. He's off to a great start. Almost 13 ppg in 25 mpg. Shooting almost 42% from 3.

We are already having trouble getting KCP some minutes, so adding Tyreke at this point would not help, at all.

Y'all thinking about unloading Monroe?

Early returns aren't great for Smith/Monroe/Drummond together and word is that ownership doesn't want to offer him the max.

Thoughts?

But with Rondo sitting out half the season, then EG getting hurt and sitting out the other half, they would be in perfect tank form. Then start anew next year with Rondo-Gordon-Wiggins trio.
Makes sense for them because Gordon can't carry a team, and Rondo is getting the frick out of dodge if they don't put some talent around him.

It's gonna be hard to offer Monroe the max with Jennings and Smiths deals, unless they want to for sure have no realistic shot at retaining Drummond in 2 years. So it's a pick your poison type scenario coming up real soon

Tyreke is definitely an upgrade over Stuckey. I've never been impressed with him.

How much of fan upgrade is obviously the question.

Man, I sure hope not. He's the best player on the team, and my favorite Piston. Every indication is that the marriage is fine between Monroe, and the ownership. All comes down to money. I really, REALLY hope it works out. Ownership would be foolish to not try everything possible to retain him.

I'm still being patient regarding this. Takes time to gel in the NBA (you guys should know that after watching the first 9 Pelican games). Pistons have 4 brand new starters, some new faces on the bench, and a new coach. I still think this is a playoff team (especially in the EC).

Basically, you think it unfolds like Hibbert/Pekovic? Pistons will match anything, but hope no one wastes their time?

Smith is worrisome. He needs to stop jacking up threes. Definitely think they can be a playoff team in the East.

From everything that I read/gather, yes. But the problem will be...that some other team will offer a lot for Monroe. 18 ppg and 10 rpg, and only 23 years old. Not many of those floating around.

That wasn't meant as a rip, but its true. Teams need stability, from the front office down to the players. Doesn't matter if its the Pistons or the Pelicans.

You're the only person high right now by the looks of this thread. Well, maybe Heady.
