Either fire Monty or hire an offensive genius.

realistically we may already be out of the playoff hunt.

No. No we are not. That is patently ridiculous.

However, obviously we won't make it with the way we are playing.

Mood is very somber on the locker room. Not a peep from anyone. Very uncomfortable

Monty is simply an assistant that is not ready to be a head coach yet. Maybe in a few years, but his first year was the luck of walking into a pretty good situation with a mostly developed team.

He was coaching guys with established roles or that had understood where and how they fit. When it came time to help place guys into their positions, he's been horrible, and implementing his own offensive scheme has been a disaster for 2 seasons and counting.

Furthermore, this team's defense has been utterly pathetic going on three years and I mean that generously. Lots of individual defensive talent, but team defense is just straight horrible.

Pelicans need a coach with an established track record.

I say give him through november. If no progress make a move if there is a realistic, attainable replacement. If there isnt ride it out until its clear we are destined for teh suck.

Dude needs to bring in a rick adelman guy to his staff who can scheme up some clever motion shite in the halfcourt. No one on this staff has a clue how to teach offense.

The ONLY problem with firing Monty is who will replace him and how quickly will the team learn his schemes. It really sucks that he sucks. It's horrible timing. We need a winning product on the floor to generate some excitement and we need it quick.

Somebody needs to get here and teach these young guards some offense, while they're still young and teachable... You could argue EG, Jrue, and Tyreke have never been in a legit, structured NBA offense... so are we positive all 3 HAVE to have the ball in their hands to succeed?

Gordon and Jrue doesn't. Jrue is a very good spot up shooter and Gordon has a beautiful catch and shoot stroke. The only one that actually relies on isolation plays to create his offense is Reke.

Either bring in someone now that can get this team to at least be competitive (Karl, Hollins, Zen Master), or let Williams run this thing into the ground, get a top 5 draft pick and replace him after the season.

The really funny thing is that Dell is probably going to be gone as well. It sucks that we're already having this discussion only a few games in.

Phil might come coach here if he can have it in his contract that he only has to coach away games.
