You can access it via downloading the Tor Browser which helps encrpt your computer..lot of hackers in the deep web so your IP address needs to anonymous. Its good to encrpt your harddrive if there's anything important on it. You can google the url addresses on regular internet to get strarted..once in the deep wen you can't just search a topic an get websites. You have to find links or get invited to sites run by private servers (theses have the good stuff) via joining message boards and if the other posters decide to invite you or tell you of more sites. The URLs are long strings of numbers and letters and end in .onion rather than .com. Search the url for hiddenwiki and download the Tor. That's a good easy and relatively safe place to start

The article I linked said one bitcoin is worth ~$300 currently.

As of right now it is $340.2 on Mt.Gox.

It was like $240 a couple of days ago.

If anyone has any questions about bitcoin I'll be happy to answer them. I should be around all day today.

re: World’s First Bitcoin ATM Processes $100k in Transactions in its First 8 Days

US set to allow bitcoin campaign donations

quote:

The FEC says that bitcoin does not meet its definition of money because it is not a national currency nor a negotiable instrument like a cheque and because it does not represent a "fixed amount of money".

However, the Commission says that there is nothing in its rules that stops the acceptance of bitcoin as "in-kind" contributions along the lines of stocks and commodities.

The funny thing is that a federal judge earlier this year ruled that it is money, not to mention FinCEN's guidance saying bitcoin exchangers have to register as MSB's. Looks like the Feds are going to have trouble being consistent on this topic.

But the best part of this article is this:

quote:

Senator Tom Carper took to Facebook to welcome the draft, saying: "I applaud the FEC for acting quickly to recognize this and develop a thoughtful policy that gives donors and committees rules of the road to utilise this emerging technology."

Carper chairs the Senate Committee on Homeland Security which is preparing to hold a hearing on virtual currencies in the next few weeks.

"Virtual currencies are not going away. Their emergence has potentially far reaching implications for the federal government and society as a whole," he says. "I expect this decision and other recent developments will be discussed at our Committee's upcoming hearing, as we dig into what a whole-government approach to this new and unique technology may look like."

a Senator understands the implications, but the "geniuses" on the Money Talk board don't

Bitcoin has potential. It is still a little volatile for my tastes to have any considerable amount of my assets in it.

I'm also waiting for the hammer to drop from the Feds, but who knows, maybe that day won't come.

The Tor network has already been hacked and documented.

2nd, there are real and valuable reasons as to why currency should be monitored and governed......

If they're so clear then you should have no problem listing them. I'm here to learn. Teach me.

Lets start with fraud. If you lived in a world where you exchanged goods and services for virtual cash (bitcoins) how do you prevent fraud by making it untraceable?

just ask questions here.

if you want to buy, the easiest and safest method is to use a site called coinbase.com

they will link to your bank account and debit your account via ACH and will give you your purchased bitcoins after the ACH has cleared (generally 4-5 days). your purchase price is maintained as the price at the time of purchase. in other words, if you buy at $300 today and in 5 days when the ACH clears the price is $320, well, you will still get the bitcoins at $300. conversely, if you purchased at $300 today and the price 5 days from now is $280, then you will still be charged the $300 for them.

you can also use localbitcoins.com and attempt to buy from a local person in a face to face transaction. if you do this, please use caution. do it in a safe location like a bank lobby or a busy fast food restaurant.

Bitcoin is still VERY risky. You could lose everything. Do not buy more than you can afford.

you may think so, others may disagree.

what are you going to do about the literally hundreds of crypto-currencies currently in operation?

And for the record, the idea of a virtual currency is awesome, but it makes no sense if you cannot attach names, ID's and history to it.
