Although I love the athleticism, where does the shooting come from with that lineup? Obviously you have Stringer, but Martin CAN knock down the 3, but he's not exactly a 3-point specialist. I just wish we had another player would could hit it.
But like it's been said, you got Malik, Coleman, Hickey, they will all get significant PT...I haven't said this probably...well probably ever. But man oh man we are some kinda deep!

Hickey might not start in the exibition game, but he'll be our starting 1. I'm definitely excited to see Q's big arse run it though.

Hickey is a career 32% shooter from three. He wasn't giving that to the team either.
Hickey's biggest contributions were on defense and ball handling/distribution.

I'm surprised but I guess Coach is trying to get this particular lineup some minutes. I do expect Hickey to start against Umass though

martin and mickey will be the best shooter's on the team not named stringer

Just reading between the lines. Hickey has sat before because there were "some things he needed to work on"

I say we all breath. From LSU basketball Twitter page said hickey will be involved but was more worried about team chemistry. I think both are going to be starting throughout the season against various different matchups. I think its awesome that both are going to be competing for the starting role. We need to remember this is an exhibition game. LSU wants to win of course but this is to develop talent and younger players against different players. I don't except JOB to play as much as Odo. CJJ is worried about the team and not one player not getting his exhibition game start. I do think that just like last year starting does not mean you are starting for the whole year. Especially when we have a deep roster.

Yeah, but has Jones actually said these words, THIS year? I don't recall any indication that Quarterman is getting a shot due to disciplinary issues with Hickey. I could have just missed it.

It's not unreasonable to think that given Hickey's history. It's hard for me to believe Hickey lost his job day one to a true freshman.

Eh, there was one issue that Jones had very early in the season last year and there was nothing after that. Jones specifically mentioned that Hickey had maturity issues and needed to work them out and there was not a peep from then on out after he sat for a bit.
I just want to give the kid the benefit of the doubt, especially since there has been no indication that he's been slipping this offseason or in the 2nd half of last year.

I still am not sure what to make of it, but he made it sound pretty solid. He said he wasn't sure who would start besides Quarterman and JOB.
