Two different animals. The boat I fish on is a 31CC. It's perfect for what we do. Goes fast, doesn't get us wet, and is great on fuel. Sportfishers are for spending days on the water, running hundreds of miles to get to the fish, and doing so comfortably.

You don't say

quote:

Great on fuel

Does not compute, a 31 cc has what, twin 300? That sport fisher with Diesel engines probably gets better fuel mileage.

Spending days on the water

You can do that in a CC, we've done it, its just not as comfortable as a yacht.

Isn't that the point of conversation?

Fishing on a CC is more comfortable than on a yacht IMO. You can only have people on the back of a yacht, you can have people fishing 360 degrees on a cc. Sorry for having an opinion on the matter.

There is a large difference in the price of filling up a 400 gallon tank and a 2000 gallon tank to both have effective cruising ranges of 450 nautical miles...quite obviously. I feel certain that is what he was saying.

Pull on overnighter on a 31 cc and one on a 64' Viking and get back with me..

Well yeah, I cut my teeth on overnighters in the canyon, but AC stateroom and showers >>>>>> bean bags and smelling like pogies

and I think you might be a touch off on those fuel estimates, C'est La Vie burns 500 GPH at top speed

I have. I'd rather the center console any day of the week. In fact I spent 3 days on a 39' venture. Relaxing is obviously better on a yacht, but I'm out there to fish, not jack off in a boat that's nicer than many homes.

I'd say that boat is more the exception than the rule, most sport fishers on the water are almost half it's size

And I like venture boats, obviously.

I want to hear the story about the owner of Reel Fire refusing the polygraph, thus negating the state record.
