We've been incredibly average this year, but as weird as it sounds, I'm a bit relieved that we'll get Boston instead of Pittsburgh. I like that match-up in a 7 game series.

That's pathetic if those comments actually came out of Bylsma's mouth.
I hate Philly btw

Blues on the verge of losing 6th straight, starting to think the Hawks may sweep.

This Blues team is pitiful with the injuries. They will get swept.

Meanwhile I can't wait for McPhee and Oates to be fired. I can get excited about Caps hockey again.

Losing two lines out of your top 9 to injuries will do that to you.

After appearing mortal for a while, the Ducks are closing the season strong. Three straight wins. Two of them over San Jose and Sacramento. One more game against Colorado then it's sit and wait who the 8th seed is.

Schedules are out.

Pens and CBJ play game 1 on Weds at 6:30 then don't play game 2 until Saturday. So stupid.

@NHLexpertpicks: Ovi on future of #Caps 'It's not about me or Backy or somebody else. It starts on top and if they want to change, they have to change'.

How dumb is the beaudreau for Oates change looking now?

I understand ovechkin's frustration but it actually is about him. Two coaches same results.

Daniel Sedin stretchered off, was down on the ice motionless for a good chunk of time.

Really not that dirty of a hit, in the numbers yes. More of a disgrace to do that in a meaningless game. Rough year for Vancouver from start to finish.

Wanna know how I know Oates is getting fired? Because Holtby is giving zero fricks and playing like the Holtbeast instead of sitting back in the crease like Oates wants.

That's a goalie not listening to his coach telling him to be more conservative.

Reminds me of the old Ron Hextall / Billy Smith goaltending school. Love Callahan, but I'm sure Holtby's crease will be respected in the future

I'll point out that all of the hockey "experts" called for it, and the end of firewagon hockey. The Caps listened to the consensus, and this is where it got them. I remember being very outspoken against getting rid of Boudreau and attacking hockey. It's the hockey community who was wrong, as the Caps followed their stupid advice.

Go back to firewagon hockey. You still have the roster for it.

Here's an interesting comp someone brought up. Stamkos has only made the playoffs twice, has only won one Richard, but scores similar to Ovechkin. He's a career minus player (Ovi is a positive). He's also on his fourth coach in six years, and the Bolts played better this year when he was hurt. Now... why does no one call Stamkos a coach killer? Could it be the maple leaf?

Well that plus the hair. To be honest, having lived in Canada for a long period of time there is a ton of racism against european hockey players in terms of media coverage. Don Cherry exemplifies this but it's not just him, it's the talking heads at TSN etc.;

That said, can you make the argument that Stamkos hasn't had the talent around him that the Capitals have? It is interesting though that they played better with him hurt. Kind of like the SportsGuy's "ewing theory" playing out.

sucks the Preds are out. they got hot at the right time and would have been dangerous had they made it.

scored 7 in back to back games against Chicago and Minnesota. won 9 of 11 to end the season. a regulation win instead of the SO loss to Dallas would have gotten them in.
