Just amazing to me that they would take a loved villain from the comic book and totally crap on him. Some moron didn't want a movie with the main villain having mystical powers so instead we get fire breathing humans? So much more believable.

Glad to see so much hate for this one. It was really one of the dumbest big budget scripts ever written. Truly. Not hyperbole.

Nothing made sense. I'm going to build another suit because....because......

House Party!!!

Probably the most disappointing movie of the year. The previews looked so damn good, but it just faceplanted.

"Hey we've sent iron patriot to about 10 places around the world. You think maybe they're intentionally giving us false locations?" Nah frick it keep sending him "

Sadly that was the most action war machine got. Another waste

Real talk here:

I don't watch Iron Man movies for character growth. I mainly want to see two things:

1. Tony Stark kick a lot of arse in a sweet Iron Man suit (this movie had 0 seconds of that).

2. Tony Stark act like a sarcastic, witty a-hole. There were brief moments, but they were outweighed by him acting like an emotional pansy having anxiety attacks

I remember having mixed feelings about the movie when I left the theater.

I need to watch it again to figure out how much I didn't like it.

I know people got pissed when bane turned out to be a puppet, but at the very least he was a badass and kicked some arse. Why even go get a Ben Kingsley, build him up as a big bad, and then pull that? That's not a plot twist, it's just stupid.

I do remember thinking that they didn't do a great job of explaining what Extremis is. And I don't think they gave proper credence to AIM as an organization or villain. (I can see this coming up potentially in SHIELD though)

The thing that bothered me the most throughout the movie though is that the guy that played Aldrich Killian looked like a mildly retarded Brad Pitt and that kept distracting me.

I have no idea how the Mandarin is supposed to play out in the comics, but ya, it was just a tad bit disappointing when Ben Kingsley is fricking killin' it on screen creeping every one the frick out to only be some stoner.

Never was going to walk out of the theater, but definitely was wishing it would suddenly end so I could leave.

Gwyneth Paltrow wearing the Iron Man suit? Just pure awful.

Plus they ruined Mandarin. I really did not care for this film at all.

I'm actually ashamed my original attack on the film didn't include the fact Paltrow could use the iron arm blaster WITHOUT POWER!

Damn! I proved the writers correct in that the audience would be too stupid to notice a thing like POWERING the weapon.

Note to self, step up your game in regards to nitpicking movies......

I assumed that Tony had made the arc reactor irrelevant, since the suit could disassemble and fly in pieces to wherever he was.

That doesn't make it right, though....

Watched the YouTube clip. It was good but Trevor/Mandarin did say he had plastic surgery so that's why no one recognized him

Plus I think any Batman fan knew what was really going on and it didn't come right out nowhere. Bane is always hired help and villains like him rarely don't have someone they directly answer to. Plus Talia is one of Batman's all time great villains.

Whose bright idea was it to make the Mandarin an actor? I couldn't come up with a dumber plot twist if I tried. I could seriously whip up a better plot for the third Iron Man using the Mandarin in less than an hour. Could you imagine if they pulled the same actor bullshite with Joker, Venom, or Lex Luthor, only to go with some villain no one has heard of and is for the third straight time in a row the other rich guy who wants to take down Tony Stark? The Mandarin is typically a character who doesn't take orders, but gives them, and he and Guy Pierce fricking blew. Can they really not come up with anything better than that?

I could possibly have seen not wanting to do the whole rings thing early in the Iron Man series....but shite post avengers when you've introduced all the cosmic stuff why not? Now you basically let shane black completely ruin a good villain.

I don't know all that much about the comics, but if that guy is supposed to be his biggest foe I don't see how they allowed shane black to shite all over him.

I agree that Bane in DKR is not comparable with Mandarin in IM3 but Bane is definitely not always hired help.

In his introductory story, which had elements included in DKR, he was the mastermind. Knightfall
