I just think its too early. baring injury, I think brees can last another 5 years.
Do we really want to bring in a ~23 year old QB that will have to sit that long before he gets to start his first game?

I do like the Murray talk.
and I also think a 2nd or a 3rd on a QB is a totally plausible strategy.

Doubt they seriously consider drafting a QB in the 1-3 rounds for another two or three years. I also wonder if Payton calls it quits when Brees is done.

Jameis Winston.....?
I agree..
Jameis Winston should be available for the Saints in 2015...

I don't think it's so much that Griffin couldn't beat out McCown as it was Payton preferring to have a veteran back up opposed to a rookie.

...
Just draft a QB that falls a bit in a couple of years.

Metts going #1 brah
he is quickly climbing the draft boards, and if he carves up the rest of the schedule he will be a top 5 player IMO

Aaron Murray would be my choice and let him sit for 4 years and learn from Brees.

So take some other picks to trade up in the 1st Rd for a guy on the bench for 4 years? He won't be getting much experience. Saints QBs other than Brees number of pass attempts the past 4 years- 9 in the past 3 years. Brunnell got 30 in the game Brees sat down for in 2009.
The successor to Breesus is prolly still in high school.

Brees is 34, we can say he has about 3 (or 4 more years
so Tom Brady is done too then?

I'd like to spend a 2nd or third rounder on one and develop him behind Brees.
I'd like to spend a 2nd or 3rd rounder trying to win a super bowl right now and protecting Brees so he can play to at least 40

The first round pick next year should be O line.

It's way too early to even think about this. Who thinks about the QB of the future when their team is presently a Super Bowl contender with a QB that is still breaking records? The days of drafting guys to groom for 4 years are over. QBs are coming out of college ready to play day one. By making a guy sit for that long is just doing a disservice to the player and the organization that drafted him.
Edit: Also, it makes it even dumber when you consider the guy will be at the end of his rookie deal before he even starts a game. Who wants to sign a guy long term before he starts a game?
