the way my Dad was screaming and carrying on, you would think the Saints were done for the season and Brees and Payton were lost.

He was flipping out and tossing crap. I blame the prevent and the refs, but still I think we are a top three or four team in the league right now. We didn't get blown out.

How long have you been a Saints fan? Most of us who have been life long Saints fans have had plenty of practice at losing games. Hailmary for Cleveland's first ever win? Panthers in Tiger Stadium? Those were way worse than yesterday.

Man, has it really been that long? Still, I don't think you ever forget what it's like when your team is perpetually terrible.

You don't forget but you do get spoiled with winning

Very true. I still remember how horrible Monday's were in the late 90's after an LSU and a Saints loss and how it almost never happened that they both won on the same weekend.

I'm used to disappointing games in my lifetime of watching the Saints.... The Hail Mary against the falcons, the punt return for a TD to make the playoffs against the Rams, the missed xtra point against Jacksonville, the 1-15 season, the last second TD by the Pats, ..etc... And now I've learned to deal with it ( DWI)... It's all good, just move on to the next game... Live alot longer that way!...

I went back to CBS scene drank with some Pats fans and then headed back to Boston just in time to see Big Papi hit his grand slam, then went out and drank some more.

Even with the loss, Boston has been one of the better road trips I have ever taken. Very nice fans, only complaint is they gave up way too soon. Gillete was 1/2 empty when they won the game.

This game was kind of different for me because I was in Boston for the game. I went out with my buddies and stayed up until last call drinking our sorrows away. It's just a good way to take your mind off of the loss, drinking and joking around with friends. Ideally I would have had a pretty lady helping me take my mind off of it, but I didn't have that option.

Always have fun. The Saints remain in great position. You probably had a great trip other than the game outcome.

Much more of a bummer when your favorite college team loses a game, because the ramifications are generally so much greater. The Pats can lose 3 or 4 games this year and still be in great shape!

I'm not one of them, but Im always curious how these people are able to go party after an agonizing Saints or LSU (or Pellies playoff) loss. After that 49ers playoff game I think I was in the fetal position for the better part of two hours. Last night I had to endure a brutal train ride back to Boston hearing "who dat?" catcalls from Patriot fans. But there were Saints fans heading out, drinking, having a good time as I slinked back to my room after a quiet dinner. Whats the mindset?

the mindset is that it's just a game and they are able to put it into perspective.

but I came to the realization several years ago (after 1/9 LSU-BAMA) that I won't let a game effect me like that again. Life is too short for that shite.

Same thing happened to me after that game. I embarrassed myself with how I was acting. Went home to my newborn son and realized life was way too short to let a game consume me so much.

I still go nuts and get very pumped and heated during games but don't get so somber and sulk for hours after losses. I'm much happier now too.

Was at all three of these games and no they weren't. Pats was by far the most stunning/improbable. This was River city relay and Bluegrass Miracle territory when you consider all the blown calls, poor clock management, and everything that had to transpire exactly so to allow for that last play.
