Looks like this was all fake.

Multiple reports on twitter that it is.

Nearly half the stadium was empty when the Chiefs twitter said they broke the record.

The crowd broke the record with 30 seconds left in the game. They reached a peak of 137.5 decibels...a jet engine is 140 decibels.

Damn it KCMO, I wanted to mention that.

Not possible. I was there, a ton of people had already left

Arrowhead is the best place to watch a NFL game bar none. The whole experience is just great. What helped was getting the record today was probably the best rivalry in the NFL.

As a saints fan it kills me to say this, but the atmosphere and environment I experienced today blew away almost all but the biggest games I've seen at the Dome.

I thought it was odd to break a record with only seconds left. I can see if Oakland had the ball and was about to score to win the game with 30 seconds left.

Yeah that's what I said earlier, record is fake. Raiders beat writer and ESPN guy said the same.

@Jerrymcd: Yes, Arrowhead was loud. Yes it played a part in Raiders O-line woes. But decibel nonsense was orchestrated.

@Jerrymcd: Can't believe KC TV making big deal out of ``decibel record'' . . . total fraud. Said the record happened when half stadium had emptied.

Might be something to that.

As a Raiders fan watching the game, they kept cutting to the decibal level on the screen during key Raider possessions and it never got above 115.

Then suddenly at the end it gets to 137???

When the crowd was loudest they would show the decibel level on the screen. Never saw it get above 115.

Later on they said the highest the crowd was measured at was 135 (Seattle's record was 136). The whole thing seemed like a giant sham

Last game I went to in arrowhead was chiefs raiders, atmosphere and crowd was crazy. I still think the loudest I've ever heard a stadium was lsu auburn in Baton Rouge.
