That's absolutely incredible.

Alzheimer's sucks. The last 10-15 years of my grandmom's life, she didn't know who she was, who her daughters were, or pretty much anything. It's sad, I didn't really know her because of it, and I lived 2 streets down from my grandparents.

This is awesome!!
My wife has had Huntington's for over 10 years......the last 7 or 8 have been terrible. She honestly "died" then.We are just taking care of her waiting now.

But both of my kids have a 50/50 shot of getting it.

F YOU Huntingtons! It sucks.

It said it could be prevented, so I'm guessing people with Alzheimers will not have improvement, just less loss.

My grandmother died of Alzheimer's about 10 years ago. She was the matriarch of my mom's side of the family. Watching my whole family suffer over 5 years was terrible. Now the family is divided and torn down the middle and my grandfather is a bitter man with nothing left.

My wife was helping to care for her grandfather who had Alzheimer's. He would think she was his wife, who has been dead for years, and kept trying to grab her tits. Sad but funny at the same time.

Not uncommon.

The first patient to present was a woman in her early 40s.

Many Alzheimer patients actually get violent towards their caregivers. yet another difficult layer in this disease.
I have a history of this in my family and I honestly think ill be afflicted with it later in life. Just a hunch.
But ill take this news with guarded optimism. No doubt in my mind (no pun intended ) that we'll have this and many neurological diseases whipped in the next 100 years.

This is disappointing. I was really looking forward to my Alzheimers and forgetting everone I know. Especially my time spent on the OT.

Great news. My grandmother suffered from it, died a decade ago. But it is true that it is awful for everyone involved.

I remember it being a notable event when my grandmother recognized my dad (her son-in-law) and called him by name. It was near the end. RIP ma-maw.
