Nothing made up, or studio only about them.

This was a very, very serious band.

Such a shame.

I never had a chance to catch them live, but the live shows I have seen electronically have been spectacular.

Theres a pretty good documentary on youtube about The Stone Roses I watched recently. Blood on the Turntable I think.

Makes the manager look like a real douchecake.

You´re correct. As the Mancs would say, he was a right plonker.

This band had it all to be the next Beatles. They really did.

That is still the absolute most amazing debut album of all time, by far.

They changed the face of music, and unfortunately couldn´t participate in giving it form.

A damned shame.

I was just recently introduced to the band. Their debut album is definitely in my top 5 and they've become one of my favorite bands.

Surprised it took me so long to discover them.

You can´t imagine what it was like when that first album came out. It was literally like an epiphany.

Everything else was vile in comparison.

Well damn, after reading through the last few pages, I feel I have no other choice than to go pull out The Stone Roses debut.

It really is a fantastic album.

The Stone Roses debut

mad fer it... the last great record of the 1980s...

Up the road, a year later, another classic debut was released out of Liverpool... The La's S/T

Unfortunately, other than one perfect pop song (There She Goes), it went largely unnoticed on this side of the ocean... And then like that.. they were gone (Lee Mavers was a bit mental)

The Stone Roses - She Bangs the Drums

I go back and forth between this and Pixies for best album of 1989. I think it is the Stone Roses for me.

I'm also a big fan of Ride's debut album.
