So why is nearly everybody's perception of Romo that he chokes in the clutch?

Because everyone's first impression of him was him mishandling a field goal snap to cost his team a playoff game. Then the Cowboys as a team underachieved late in the season a few years in a row. The narrative basically became Romo wasn't clutch and couldn't carry a team.

Now whenever you see him throw a costly INT it gets all the focus. It probably doesn't happen any more or less than with most QBs, but it gets way more media and fan attention. Then whenever he does do something good it doesn't get nearly as much attention.

Every team wants a QB that can win them the Superbowl. Romo ain't that guy.

Romo is better than Dilfer and Flacco...he's plenty good enough to win a SB. That being said, they aren't winning a SB.

And how did he do in 07 and 08? Won a ton of games and was at or near the top of most Qb categories. They lost in 07 to the giants that went on to beat an undefeated patriots team in the SB

What big game situations has he won in?

What is a big game situation? They did win the last 3 games of the 09 season to get into the season. That included giving the Saints their first lost of the season and beating Eagles in the last game of the season. Then they proceeded to beat the Eagles in the playoffs.

If you want something more recent the Cowboys had 5 4th quarters comebacks last year. Hell, Saints fans should remember the game from last year. Down 14 points with 5 minutes remaining and the Cowboys were able to tie the game with 15 seconds left.

Dallas needs to learn how to run the ball more consistently.

if they knew how to do that maybe they wouldn't have to be throwing the ball around late in the game as much.

only time it seems like they want to run it is when they play the Rams and Demarco Murray has like 165 yards and 3 TD's.

but in just about every other game... forget it.

Romo is constantly airing it out with a suspect O-line in front of him. I won't disagree that he can be a choke artist though.

but I still think he gets too much blame, just my opinion.

He broke a finger and missed 3 games or else Dallas would have made the playoffs

I think he's a little better than good. 5 Qbs have ever thrown for 500 yds a 5 tds in a game and he is one of them

So is Matthew Schaub. Do you consider him better than good?

Didn't say he lead the league in 08. Said he was at or near the top in most passing categories.

He was the 8th highest rated passer with 91.4
He had 3,400 yds despite missing 3 games which made him 12th. 5th in ypg
He had 26 tds (6th in NFL) and 14 ints

Near the top

Dude Schaub did it against Jacksonville. Not one of the best teams in the league and definitely the hottest like Denver was sunday

Wow 5 4th quarter regular season comebacks huh? What does that amount to? Absolutely nothing

He has ONE, count it ONE playoff win. And lost every other important game that mattered for them to get into the playoffs other years.

Just for context.
He wasn't up there with shitty Qbs. Favre had 22 and led the league. Brees had 17 and was 3rd. Kurt Warner had 14 same as romo. Rapeliesberger had 15. Peyton had 12. Aaron Rodgers had 13.

Favre - SB champ
Warner - SB champ
Brees - SB champ
Berger - SB champ
Peyton - SB champ
Rodgers - SB champ

He's in great company. Wait...
