Supernatural Season 9 Premiere

OK...so I decided to start watching this show on Netflix about 2 months ago because nothing was on and it was right there up front of my suggestions.

I then proceeded to rip off 7 seasons, had to download the torrent to get the 8th before Netflix finally got it up, and am now caught up and ready to watch my first live Supernatural episode.

The funny thing is that even while enjoying the show I realized the thing was targeted at 14 year old girls...and I STILL enjoyed it! For me anyway, I think I gravitated towards the relationship of the brothers and what their Dad went through with them. I have two sons that are about that same age separation with different personalities like that, so that whole dynamic was fun for me.

Whew...that felt like confession. Bring on fallen angels!

lolwut? i can see maybe because the two main characters are good looking guys so that would appeal to teen girls but nothing about the story arc would lead to this assumption

Holy shite

I kind of have to agree with Fear on that one.

MILD SPOILERS:

So, I'm on Season 7 and the whole fight with the Leviathans. This season is pretty piss poor so far after a pretty piss poor Season 6. I loved Seasons 2 through 5 (Season 1 being mostly just episodic horror/comedy). Does Season 7 get better or is it still a marked drop off from Season 5? What about Season 8?

Season 7 was kind of cheesy as shite with the Leviathans and what not. Just finish it off. Season 8 brings some pretty new cool things to the show and is very good.

oh and..

Hey...I'm ok with it. But even a few episodes in I was picturing the commercials for various bedazziling kits I was missing by watching sans commercials on Netflix! haha This view was buoyed when I happened to mention to some late 20 something girls I tailgate with that I had watched this series in its entirety in 2 months to catch up and she said, "So...what's it like being a 14 year old girl?"

The show is fun, it's funny, it's written well, they clearly have fun making it and enjoy the fact that the rabid fans of the show geek out over (based on the number of episodes they smash through the fourth wall), the guys are great in their roles, etc. I'm cool with it, but I'm not going to pretend it's being made for 43 year old guys. The fact that I happen to find stuff I like about it is great and all, but I'm guess I'd be the outlier in many MANY ways if I showed up at some convention.

All that being said...I was like this at breakfast this morning knowing the show was coming on tonight.

Dean will trigger some kind of apocalypse, because it's his turn, which will lead to Sam and Dean being given the option of completely eliminating some major force of evil from the world, but they'll refuse to do it because it will require one of their lives to be sacrificed, in which case things will go on as normal because in the end they always put each other first...while simultaneously bitching at, lying to, and generally screwing each other over for the entire season.
