Don't know why he'd do that when Matt Mauck was our QB in 2003.

Flynn was a redshirt that season. He's got two rings.

Win-win for Flynn. Gets out of Oakland and still gets paid, plus a chance to sign elsewhere and get paid again.

This.

Oakland front line is a mess. Of course they need a mobile QB. This is a great situation for Flynn.

Can't believe he got outplayed by Pryor and Matt freaking McGloin.

He wasn't THAT bad in his start against the Redskins. He did get sacked 7 times, but Oakland's offensive line is terrible. One of the big reasons Pryor got the starting job was because of his scrambling ability, but even he's been sacked multiple times each game. He wasn't worth what they were paying him, but that one game doesn't justify a demotion to third string and then being cut. It seems to me like there was something else going on with this situation that the general public may not be aware of.

Agreed. They were already on the hook to pay him, strange to see him cut just like Freeman.

He will end up back at GB backing up Rogers. Green Bay has struggled finding a replacement for him in two years. He knows the system and has shown that he is a competent backup.

Wouldn't surprise me to see Miami go after him. Philbin was his OC in Green Bay that he seemed to really click with.

ETA: as a back up

Good. He needs to go to a team to develop a young "mobile" quarterback to take the starting position. He's 2 for 2 thus far.

I stated that in another thread, when is the next time you think Oakland signs another LSU QB? Probably never, good don't like those thugs anyway!!!!

Ditto, great situation for him there and best part he got PAID!!!

If he does go back to the Packers, got to believe Green Bay will be their asses off at the Raiders and send them a nice christmas gift for paying their players for them.

Bet he stunk it up intentionally to get the hell out of that hole! Oh and "give me my 6.5M on the way out" WINNER!

I hope the Bucs don't pick him up. He'd turn them into a contender.

doesn't he have an issue with his throwing shoulder or elbow?

Probably from having to try to throw too hard. He's never had a great arm.

It is time to understand that Matt Flynn is marginally a starting QB in the NFL, at best. He is a competent back-up QB. Most college Qbs do not get this chance, it's not a bad gig at all.

Plus he made over $14MM over the last 2 years. FAT STAX a CASH Bitches...
