yeah, the iPad has been terrible for my 2 year old. It took my wife, who is a teacher 3 months of "normal teaching" (without any technology) to teach my daughter A, B, and C. About 3 hours total, over the course of 4 or 5 days she learned the entire alphabet (can identify by sight, can identify by sound, can say each letter and it's sound) with the help of one app.

Yeah, it's terrible...

Buy them a book or something that generates creativity. IPads are kid poison

I think some of you try to make yourselves look like morons, that's the only way I can explain it

Yeah I don't see what is so horrible about a young kid playing with a tablet.

We use them all the time at work as distraction tools during painful procedures.

I let mine play with em about 30 minutes or so a day. They would play with them all day if I let them. And they hurt my eyes if working with them in the dark, so I don't let them use them in dark environments. Probably stupid, but oh we'll.

My kids both have samsung galaxy tab 2s. They got them for Chrismas with no issues to date.

Stupid, both my kids are in advanced classes, one skipped a grade and they live on their Kindles. Though they do actually read books on them.

They have old iphones and a Kindle. Very happy with the Kindle. Never see an app on the iphone/ipad that they can't find on the Kindle. Plus it has nice parental lock down features.

Agree. My daughter was able to spell simple words before the age of 3 because of apps. She's 4 now and can do basic addition and subtraction. Neither was possible without the iPad. They experiment and learn as opposed to someone teaching them in a setting of their choosing.
