How about a pay raise and a stable job where you know you won't fired? If he gets a HC and does bad, he's fired.

That's not the nature of the biz, or else no one would take a HC job. Also, he would have the definition of a soft landing. No matter how bad he turns out to be as a head coach there are a dozen teams who would hire him to the same spot he's in now just for his track record in Nola.

Frank is leaving at some point, barring Les retiring in the next two to three years, and I wouldn't even put money on him staying that long.

Love me some Wilson. We need to do everything we can to keep him.

Here's a question: Who would you be willing to lose to keep him, if it came to that?

You got to give Miles credit. He has assembled quite a staff and while people bitch about his loyalty, it also makes coaches want to work for him.

Frank and JC should make at least what Smart does.

Beware. Signed, Ellis Johnson

This is the reason Frank shouldn't be recruiting NOLA and the rest of Louisiana alone. We should hire Jabbar Juluke asap. He is Frank jr, although maybe not as good. It would help to have him on the staff when Frank does leave.

whoa, this is LSU we're talking about. We don't promote coordinators to HCs anymore. #thankyoumikearcher

Unless he is so qualified to replace Miles at some point these kind of move usually results in failure; Larry porter,...etc.

If he's paid $600K he is worth twice that. Great recruiter and coach. Without great recruiters no college football team can succeed. LSU needs Frank Wilson.

Not happening.

He seems to have a great relationship with Les and may not want to leave as long as Les is the HC

Completely agree.

I think more teams will look at Bama. It wouldn't surprise me to see Smart go somewhere. I was kinda surprised to see Nussmeier on there but it makes sense to see some program looking at him as well.

Frank getting some HC experience at a small school and coming back (assuming he proved himself) after Miles retirement is a wet dream of mine.

Running Back coaches with no previous head coaching or OC experience are doomed to failure as Head Coaches. Who would hire FW as a head coach? (Maybe a S.W.A.C. school) He's never even been an Offensive Coordinator.

Anybody remember a RB coach by the name of Larry Porter? How'd that hire turn out for Memphis?

Maybe a small school. Say ULL if someone gets Hudspeth. Wilson would be worth a 3 year contract/shot I think.

I would have loved to see SLU hire him, but even as an alum I feel he can do better than HC at fcs school. We need to pay him whatever it takes to keep him here.
