If I wanted to find old pictures of different places in southeast LA where could I find them?

The Louisiana State Museum &/or State Library has a ton of great pics from around the state, which I think you can purchase or have copies made.

Fort Proctor by Shell beach

Paddled out there once. It was a bitch to actually get to the Fort itself.

It will cost you at least a c-note but it's an awesome coffee table book.

I've had that book since 1978, a gift from my Mom for HS graduation.

It's a great book.

I'm from Jackson. You are correct. They also had a battle in the area where 68 and Hwy 10 cross.

Hodges gardens near toledo bend. That place was bad arse as a kid. Haven't been in forever but heard It's gone down since the family that owned it died off & the state took it as a state park. Used to be a paradise.

Interested only if sororities have meetups there.

Check out their website and you decide if you want to spend any time around folks like these.
I remember some years ago I did business in Slidell. One trip over I was having lunch with a customer and the talk of the town was the sex offender from somewhere out of state that was found there.
I don't think there are any sorority retreats here !
