re: Dems' secret weapon: Vitter's vices

quote:

But Democratic senators are preparing a legislative response targeting a sordid Vitter episode. If Vitter continues to insist on a vote on his proposal, Democrats could counter with one of their own: Lawmakers will be denied those government contributions if there is “probable cause” they solicited prostitutes.

This will never pass. Democrats like prostitutes just like Dirty Dave.

I'm all for Reid playing hardball with Vitter but this idea is dumb.

I would love to see Vitter call their bluff and vote for it knowing full and well he'd be losing his benefits

All partisanship aside, is it even legal to deny someone healthcare benefits due to a social indiscretion that has nothing to do with his job?

If so, wouldn't this be opening the door to oversight on a whole bunch of people with questionable morals and ethics?

Even the most staunch of Religious Conservatives will cheer Vitter on this one.

Oddly enough, I think the Religious "Conservatives" are the only group that actually like Vitter.

Funny how that worked out for Vitter.

He is in such a weird place politically.

I'll take Charlie Sheen's values if they'd get us out of debt, out of war, out of obamacare, out of economic stagnation, and out of this death spiral of our constitutional rights

Your logical fallacy is:

AD HOMINEM.

So just to make sure we understand you properly, it's OK that Congress exempts itself from the laws they impose on the rest of us, and the reason it's OK is that the guy calling them out rented hookers?

I can't stand Vitter but he's right on this one.
