well, when I watched his play at camps, he was ridiculously talented. No one could get by and his footwork was off the charts.

There's also camp guys, practice guys, and guys that show up when the lights come on.

I understand, but that's all I have to go on. He looked great at camp. We will see when he gets an opportunity to play.

He's better than Whitworth, Reed, and Smalling at the same age. Day was nasty his senior year. Cam hasn't been mean yet like he was last year/this summer in camps.

CRob has shown in camps he has great footwork and athleticism for his size; handwork needs some work (also from camps)

Bama will teach him to hold properly with SEC refs.

He's got the tools, if developed properly he will be the beast most think he can be.

Personally, I hope Cristobal sux, he doesn't get developed, is considered a 3-yr bust at the Toothless Wonders, then finds a good coach and becomes an NFL stud and never does anything for Bama again.

To add to my last post, I was high on Day in high school. Said he'd be a 3 year starter in college. He's looked great the times I've seen him for Moo State.

Could this simply be a case of a guy reaching his peak too soon?

Being college ready is not all that. UT is full of college ready players.

he is a beast. he owned everyone including the best rated dls in all the major camps. lets not kid ourselfs. our coaches were begging him to come to LSU before his mother told them to stop harassing and take a hike. he will be a good one for bama

Actual game play is more important than camping. The kid will be a good college player based on measureables alone. No one knows if he will be great.

Had Cam picked LSU, all we'd hear is how great he is. It's typically of LSU and probably most every schools' fans that once they get spunned for another school, they pick apart the recruit to make themselves feel better.

Yeah, but he didn't pick LSU.

People have their own opinion about certain recruits. You can't say anything negative about them before they commit, because you obviously don't want to do anything to negatively affect his recruitment.

Then, if they do commit to you, you can't say anything negative about said commit because he is now a player for LSU.

The only time you ever can really point out negatives in a recruit, is if they choose another school. It's not just LSU fans.

Obviously he blew away the recruiting svcs with his camp performances. Hopefully he lays on egg when actually suits up for games against LSU.

WMTigerFan - interested in the other offensive linemen at WM....who are they? cannot find the WM 2013 lineup anywhere.

As far Cam I wish him no luck, hope in ends up selling hamburgers in Vicksburg cause thats as close a place to WM that will give him a future job. Traitor to Ouachita, traitor to WM, traitor to La.

Wish WM well though.

I have to trust the scouts on this one, cause apparently he shows out at camps....BUT i have seen him play several times and he isn't anything special in the games IMO, my dad and several other knowledgeable people i know have said the same thing....honestly, it's kinda been the consensus opinion in NELA for the last couple years....everyone was still praying he'd go to LSU, but the hype has been kinda strange. That's the only way i can explain it. But again, i trust the scouts and coaches more than the rest of us, so I'm sure he'll be an All-SEC player eventually

I've watched him play twice the last 2 seasons both games against Madison Central. Last season West Monroe came to our place and it turned into a track meet in the 2nd half with West Monroe running away with the game. Cam only played like every other offensive series. I thought this was probably because he had just transferred to the school. Although he was the biggest on the field he really didn't dominant but he only played half the of offensive series.

This season we traveled to West Monroe and although Cam played well for most of the game he cost his team at crunch time. He had a dumb personal foul penalty called on him at a critical time in the game and in overtime they tried to run behind him for the 2pt conversion and we stuffed it!

My take on Cam Rob after watching him is this:
1)You cant teach size and speed and he has size and good feet for a player his size.
2)He looks to play lazy and takes plays off but all high school players take plays off.

So like all prospects that go to big D1 schools if he can get the right coaching and mindset to work his tail off then he can become a good lineman if he continues to be lazy he can become a bust.

not quite true, you're allowed to say negative things about them if they...

1. are a 3-star or lower, although you'll probably get countered by the Jacob Hester analogy
2. they play for a rival high school
3. they're white and don't play QB, OL or PK/P
