Could this be a new attitude coming in with Cam? Maybe Miles was all about the seniority, and had a say in the defense? Now that Cam is here and has autonomy on O, he might be tossing out some suggestions for the D, and Chief may feel more comfortable asserting himself?

Or maybe Freak's mother is getting more involved in special teams now that Freak is a full time starter. She might have suggested that Odell run back that field goal attempt. After that worked Chavis might have turned to her for advice.

CB Jalen Mills

On UAB scoring a touchdown …
“I really was not satisfied. I feel like it was me and the other guy, and I let him catch the ball on me. It was my fault. I am not impressed with the way I performed on that particular play. There is always next week.”

On what he will do to improve next week …
“I will settle down and work on my technique in practice. I will focus on what I need to do in order to bounce back next week. On that running touchdown I was inside of my man. I had the wrong leverage, and he had a good angle on me. I just need to focus on what I need to do in order to bounce back and play next week.”

Spoken like a veteran senior leader, he is not going anywhere. Mills will not be replaced and shouldn't be because of one TD that everyone looks at, glad it came against UAB and not like last year. He has a good head and is his own biggest critic. Predict a pick six next week at the very least and int.

I don't think people understand how small 164 is to be playing at d-1 football especially in SEC that means most receivers have a 25+ 30+ lb strength and weight advantage on you plus you have to tackle 210+ rb's your body would start to break down not to mention getting blocked and ran over.

11 pages on speculation of changes that we all know will not be made barring injury.

loston is the biggest disappointment so far in the secondary. hard to change old habits, which are actually his instincts. he's a physical guy who looks for the big play(hit), but often puts him in a position to not do his job as a SAFEty. White and Robinson can contribute to this team now. Im not saying they should both start, but they're not far off, and if the coaches are getting the feeling that they may be the best men for the job then they should make the switch immediately. Mills will be tough to overtake, Collins needs to step up.

...size isn't everything. Ask TM7 that. Did you know other factors play a role, like athletic ability and techniques on how to tackle and get off blocks...

There's a tendency for people to judge players by how they look on paper. Ht, wt, 40 time. That's why TM7 was under the radar.

Do you remember McClusky from Ole Miss? He was only about 165, ran 4.65 40, but was one of the toughest and most explosive backs in the SEC.

Speak for yourself...I don't give a good damn about measurements...that's for dreamers and 'tards! It's all about production...I predicted whole-sale changes the other day...and don't forget about Jefferson...or Logan....these guys are coming!

Dang, those are wholesale changes. Sucks for mills, but if theyre better, they're better.

Also shows that Miles believes he has a NC caliber team this year and will do what it takes to fix things quickly. I love it!!!

1. You need to wake up if you didn't see that our backups played better against there first team offense then our starters.

2. I have no problem with mills being the 3rd corner if he is the 3rd best corner. Ron brooks was the third corner to and you see how that worked out.

3. Jalen collins can't cover or tackle and need's more work. He destine to give up at least one long pass play per game.

4. Tre white had 6 tackles and I can't remember him actually missing any and he looked the part. It don't matter how big you are if you taking bad angles and wiff on tackles all day. Tackling is an art.

5. RR been on campus 2 week and already playing. He will be tough to keep off the field.

6. Our safeties are meh so I definitely wouldn't be surprised if they lost there spots.
