Yep.

The boat was struck by lightning in the slip once. Had to melt down some dive weights to refill the hole in the solid lead wing keel and replace all the wiring and most of the rigging.

Freshwater strikes are way worse than saltwater. If it happens while you are sailing the boat, you just need to make sure you aren't touching anything conductive, and then you need to make sure you're the luckiest somebitch in the boat.

I agree. It's happened to me twice, and the hair on the back of my neck still stand up a little just thinking about.

I got caught in a lighting storm out in Barataria bay. I thought for sure my T-top was going to be a lightning rod.
