My father in law (somewhat of a Niner fan) replied with this when I sent him the video of Eric laying those licks and the news of him getting the starting job:

While I consider myself an LSU sunshine pumper, I have never been a Miles apologist. His body of blunders is greater than his body of work IMO. I warmed up to him over the 2011 season, but then he pushed the reset button on 1/9/2012.
I think he's a helluva recruiter and does an average job in his present post, but he scares me when I see him on the sideline on game day.

yeah, I'm tired though of talkin about ole Les. It's frustrating to see them blow these last two games to Alabama, especially when you know LSU has the talent to beat these people. But clowns on here will argue that Alabama has superior talent and all that crap. Also, blame it on Jefferson and Lee. Just ridiculous.

Drew is capable of finding his weakness, fast. I just know Reid is good at sneaking up a gap and layin QB's out cold.

He is playing because he is extremely intelligent. When you combine that with great athletic ability it's a great combo. This is why he saw the field early at LSU.
