In the 1990s, the Stoeger company was purchased by Finnish rifle manufacturer Sako. In 2000, Sako was acquired by Beretta Holding S.p.A. At that time, Stoeger Industries was placed under the ownership of Benelli USA, where it remains today as a member of the Benelli USA family of companies.
The technology and expertise of Benelli USA are integral to Stoeger’s manufacturing processes. And all Stoeger products enjoy a solid reputation for affordable quality.

Same goes for Franchi

My first Franchi was the AL48 that was passed down from my Grandfather. My first Auto loader duck gun was the Franchi 612. I upgraded to the 912 to be able to shoot 3 1/2 inch shells. Then on the the SBE I, II, and now Vinci. I have since sold the 912 and SBE I. I still shoot the AL48 and 612 and would recommend the Franchi to anyone wanted a cheaper autoloader.

I would look into a Beretta 3901. Only comes in 3" but that won't be a problem for doves. They can be had on gunbroker for around $500.
