Look, I know everybody wants to relive the Keith Poole glory days, but I just don't know if Tanner will make the team.

Honestly, I just think people are pulling for him because he's on the cusp...he's a training camp numbers casualty.

Henderson & Meachem weren't great route runners & often got taken out of plays when corners were really physical with them. Still in all, they made a pretty good living running primarily deep routes only.

Nobody truly knows if Morgan had improved running other routes due to his injury but the potential is there. Unlike both Henderson & Meachem, Morgan actually has quickness in his ability to move laterally. The other two were only straight line speedsters.

Morgan had also flashed the ability to catch passes away from his body with his hands only which was something Meachem & Henderson had problems with. Morgan has also showed he can go up & catch passes at its highest point. That's something those two former receivers lacked the ability to do as well.

The book is still out on Morgan as to his overall development as a receiver. This is why losing him for season was so disappointing along with losing someone who had the potential to have a breakout season at the receiver position.

I do think we get by easily without Morgan. Even if all he does is go routes, the defense still has to respect that, which opens up for the other guys underneath. I think Stills and Toon will both be good, but they don't give you that true, consistent deep threat that Morgan does.

Which of these 3 young receivers replace Meech and Devery in the Blocking department? Those two guys were very good blockers.

Stills is pretty fast and as you saw last game, Toon can get downfield as well. Not saying he's a consistent deep threat but maybe he's faster than we thought.

Morgan had only caught 10 passes....

And if memory serves right they were all on the 9 route.

Not saying he didn't improve or he still wouldn't be progressing. I'm saying based on what we have seen from him and what we have seen from Toon and Stills(and even Henderson especially the last 2 years and Meachem but both not as well as Toon and Stills) they can run that route as well as a bunch of other routes well.

I'm not saying Morgan would have been bad or would have stayed a one trick pony but the ceiling appears much higher on Stills and Toon. And both ran faster 40s than Morgan if that means anything.

Both have ran that route effectively in practice and in games and both have faster 40s than Morgan. I don't think you know what you are talking about.
