re: Ok never been to Dragos

Haven't had it in years, but IIRC the crab au gratin was good...lots of crabmeat. I know, heavy and rich. But that's the sort of place it is. I think you can get a seared tuna salad if you're desperate for something non-fried, non-greasy.

Don't like the texture and flavor of lobster....will eat all other seafoods.

Second the Peche nomination if you're looking for seafood.

I went a couple weeks ago. 2 dozen chargrilled, 2 dozen raw. Awesome. Nothing else we had really stood out..

You obviously haven't had them in a while. Sand washed away from bottom of grill and wood got old, have to use green wood that won't smoke. Things are just not the same...

Gotta get the charbroils, but as far as entree I either get the stuffed lobster or stuffed soft shell.

Everything else is pretty meh to bad. The fried seafood is absolutely abysmal.

Oysters are only the first half of the answer.

Second half? Walk across the street after your oyster-fest and order a steak at Crazy Johnnies.

That's actually very good advice. Start with the oysters as an appetizer at Drago's, then move on to somewhere else. I like to eat New Orleans with a friend, and it's nothing for us to order food and drink at three different places during the course of an evening.

Never heard of a restaurant getting a pass for having average food. They're being charitable with your money.

I guess.
They show up at our school fair and several others and give so many oystes to help the cause.
I go to a childrens hospital fundraiser every hears and the drago folks are there from beginning till end slinging oysters for free.

They gave away several thousand plates of free food after Katrina.

No big deal, but I like to give a little back from time to time to a place like this. And I def. give my business client friends the dragos suggestion of they are staying in Metairie.
