So who at Devon gets their arse canned and never find another job?

Devon is done. That company has gone from one of the top independents to an absolute turd

They have done some really questionable things in areas where we have worked around them recently. They now have totally new people handling areas like the gulf coast who have virtually no idea of the assets. I've also heard their cline results are underwhelming as well.

Not directed at anybody particular but...
This year seems to the year everything takes off or crashes and burns. Im looking for suggestions on making some money off this. Would buying Goodrich / Halcon / Encana stocks be wise?

If you think it's going to take off. I personally think it's a bust for the time being. AFEs too high and production to low.

First the TMS isn't economic, it's not a viable play.
Secondly:
Not really a TMS stock, but they have that shitty acreage to go along with all their other shitty fringe acreage around good plays and in other shitty plays.
Has committed suicide in the TMS.
Bet too much on gas and are imploding. Closed their office in Dallas at the end of last year and laid off a bunch of people. Have new management and are selling their Canada assets - huge sale just to pay off debt.

Anybody know if they are going to be ramping up producion in Pointe Coupee anytime soon?

For TMS? No, they will not. That's out of the trend. Anadarko had a bunch of crappy acreage in PC that they leased for a chalk play. They tried to sell it as TMS and no one bought - it's expiring.

Pretty much everyone on TD says the TMS is a bust. Seems Goodrich has bet the house on it. I'm not sure who to believe
I'm curious how much their stock will jump if the TMS does turn into the next big play like some articles are saying could happen. They have 300k acres that they can't drill all of and will make a ton off selling it to others wanting in.
I don't know anything about stocks but I'm interested in taking a risk to make some money. Gotta capitalize some how off of this.

Its too early to say their acreage is shitty. Honestly, I think they have some of the BEST acreage.
I'm not completely sold on them technically but I do have faith Floyd will make this happen somehow/someway.

I imagine he says that because he knows their bleak financial outlook. Last summer Goodrich was attempting to sell anything they could off the record to gin up cash. Yes, they have a line of credit but their only assets are some lower tier Eagle Ford and dry gas in the Haynesville other than the TMS (I guess they have some CV in East Texas but they've sold off a lot of it). Unless gas got to probably 5.50 - 6.00 and stayed there the Haynesville and CV cannot make Goodrich high enough returns to justify drilling. They are now in a play that is yet unproven and laden with mechanical issues. Goodrich could hit a home run if the issues can be solved, but if these issues are directly related to rock properties they will lose their gamble. They are a small highly leveraged company attempting to tame the TMS which has been a difficult proposition so far. 12 million dollar wells have to make more than 500 BOPD or they just cannot come close to being economic. Right now there is only one well that truly looks economic and that well result (Crosby) has yet to be repeated.
edit: I guess the CV can make them money now if they have a liquids yield to add 2.00 or so to the base gas price, but I don't think it's material enough to propel their company.

I kind of feel like what he did with Petrohawk was a one shot phenomenon. He lucked in to the Haynesville position in Elm Grove by buying out KCS. Give them credit for the Eagleford HZ play, but EOG seems to have ended up with the top acreage. It seems like with Halcon they push a play as being the next big thing to the company and then when it disappoints it never gets mentioned and becomes mothballed or sold (Woodbine, Deep gas play outside Houston, Rapides parish TMS, Utica).
