Yeah, I'm in. The only people don't want him back are the ones he demolished or are afraid to get demolished by him

I don't know what kind of frickery led to jester being banned, but I don't like it. #freejester.

I thought we hated Jester

I want Jester to come back. He just got a tad bit too caught up in his persona. Like I do sometimes on the PoliBoard.

Jester probably pulled his typical Jestering on an admin again

Jester should be allowed back provided he admits to everyone he only eats the mildest of wings and I have total power to ban him for a day at a time for when he goes loopy.

It's a better move that he is not on this team.

Another lazy professional athlete taking a short cut to a championship. I HATE athletes who take this route to success.

You should repost this.
Again.
But seriously, I don't think Oden is chasing a ring. He's going to a place where a) he is not needed to contribute
b) one of the best owner/franchises since they came into the league in 1988.The Heat have been players in FA since the mid 90s. They are no worse than a Top 8 franchise in modern NBA history-which is pretty impressive for how young they are.
Considering our own basketball franchise came into the league at the same time, the Heat are the measuring stick and ever since Riley took over/Mourning was traded, they have blown us out of the water.
His signing with Miami doesn't hinder Anthony Davis at all, which is most important.

Your point about Riley should not be underestimated.
Going as far back as possible, so the 1946 season, 27 of the 67 titles have been won `under the influence' of just 3 men: Phil Jackson, Red Auerbach, and Pat Riley. That's a hair over 40%. One can quibble over job title, but the fact is those teams that won were strongly influenced on the team-construction level by those 3 men.
You gotta have players who can win and a ton else, but the strongest factors are the team architects, those NBA cults of personality.
The situation gets worse if you shorten up the time period due to mergers, etc.
From the NBL merger, lop 3 titles off, which ups the percentage. From the ABA merger, it's 18 of 37. It's 18 of 33 if you just count from the start of Riley's NBA coaching career in 1981.
I'm not sure any of those dates really matter. When Auerbach was in his prime, he won a title 9 of 10 years. At least these guys have their runs interrupted, but two guys winning more than half the titles of the past 30 years is no fluke.
It's them.

Those coaches happened to have the best players in NBA history
Cousy/Russell
Jordan/Pippen/Kobe/Shaquille
Kareem/Magic/Wade/Lebron
Common denominator: all had the best player and another top 10 player in the NBA when they won
I guess the deserve credit for doing something though

Hell of a coach, GM and general NBA guru, imo.

Like either directing or strongly influencing the assembling of talent and tailoring the roster. Yeah. Something.

Sure they did.
And what did those players do without the coach?
The coaches had a number of talented players they won with.
I fully acknowledge the player aspect and more, but look past the dogma.
Which is the cart and which is the horse?
Which is the rarer commodity?
Which is really more influential long-term?
