While the head coach may not have a sitdown with each player and tell him where he should go, there are classmates and faculty at every BR school pushing these kids to go to LSU. It's an expectation for anyone who grew up here.

Wouldn't surprise me. Him and Michael Patterson have the exact same skill sets and potential. No need for two them. IMO Patterson looked like a better prospect from the get-go

I think this had some to do with it. I think the other thing is that Williams wouldn't be physically ready to play DE in our system and we needed guys that could step on the field right away and help us. Especially since at that time it looked like Herron was going to outgrow the DE position.

You think Herron's listed weight of 245 on LSU's website is legit?
If so it looks perfect for him to put on maybe 10 or so pounds of muscle this summer and be ready to play at DE this fall.

It might be, he could have slimmed down. But at one point he was up to like 265 or so.

Yeah I remember reading he was up at like 290 or something ridiculous like that, I may have been mistaken though
