The funny thing is, ESPN's position for cable subscription fees couldn't be stronger thanks to the live sports (mainly NFL and BCS). Their fees are over $5 per month, meaning everyone reading this who has a cable subscription accounts for $60 in revenue per year. A loss in viewership to their regular programming might sting a little, but they won't be desperate to make changes.

I pretty much just watch MLB network now. frick sportscenter, they beat around the bush instead of showing game highlights.

I hardly watch ESPN at all this time of year since I got MLB Network. Sportscenter was great when it was about the games and highlights. Now it's just "analysis" from Herm Edwards or some other stupid frick that doesn't know shite. I'll stick with MLB Tonight and Quick Pitch

You mean people are getting sick of an endless barrage of debate shows that all discuss the same exact topics????

ESPN really needs Tim Tebow to come out of the closet

It must be a more complicated thing than it seems to run a quality network that generates good ratings while covering a wide variety of sports.

They must have all sorts of different viewers to consider. The viewer who watches a lot every day probably makes up a small but important part of their demographics... and may have opposite desires compared to the larger number of viewers who may only watch 20-60 minutes of ESPN in a given day.

In the past couple of years I have been watching a lot more Golf Channel. I haven't hardly even played this year, but I eat that stuff up now more than ever. I find midday programming pretty much terrible for all of tv, so I feel like that should drop nationwide. If ESPN had a baseball game every night, and rotated the markets more, I would watch more often in the summer. But with that said, I prefer a Tbs broadcast much more.

ESPN is the best sports coverage available. Anyone that says otherwise is lying

ESPN is a joke. I quit watching that shite a year ago and life has been worlds more pleasant. I prefer going to MLB network for my baseball (a fantastic station btw) and NFL network for football. ESPN is only good for live events now. Everything else is far too corny and they push too may bias agendas for my liking.. but you as an Alabama fan I can see how you'd enjoy them.

Finally people are wising up to the ESPN bullshite. They just get a bunch of rambling idiots up there to say outlandish things simply to get reactions, and I hope it continues to backfire. They're such an agenda based network it's laughable.

I'm making the full time switch to Fox Sports One.

I will watch ESPN for games that they carry, but anything highlights/news related I'll be on FS1.

frick ESPN.

Same with arod...go to espn.com once every hour, there will be a new story on the subject every time you do. From arods pov or the Yankees or the doctors or some writer. Is it that big of a deal hat happens to him? He hasn't done anything in years

Or how about the constant "so and so tweeted this".....garbage....they are the TMZ of sports. They care far more about who Tony Romo is dating, or what celebrity said the Yankees were going to win than covering the actual sport itself.

And the obvious market bias is ridiculous. Yes, I'm sure everyone loves 20 Red Sox/Yankees games a year on top of the already incessant desire to throw their every little issue into your face (See Bobby Valentine news last year).

Or how about the Lakers being on national television 25 games in a given year while the Rockets get maybe 1 nationally televised game.

Or every trade deadline is about so and so going to either A) The Lakers or B) The Knicks. Whether that is a fricking realistic option they give no fricks, they want it to happen.

Get ready for the ridiculous LeBron to the Lakers shite this upcoming offseason. Dear God its going to be abysmal the stupid shite I can sense about to drool from the mouths of Stephen A. and Chris "Sources" Broussard, SKip Bayless, Bill Simmons, if they write for the NBA, then you can bet they'll bring it up.

Oh and their "Heat Index" on the NBA section? I know they Heat won the championship and all....but I never recall a "Lakers Index" when they won back-to-back titles.......

When ESPN does shite like that, they lose me. You don't respect my team and you even act like they don't exist, you can scratch my eyeballs from your ratings you dipshits.

I haven;t watched an entire Sportcenter in many years...maybe since Dan Patrick left. I got tired of their anchors being the bigger draw than the actual highlights they were there to show.

Now...if it isn't live sports, I never turn ESPN on.

NFL Network and MLB Network both have great coverage, and surely have cut into ESPN's pre & post-game coverage, both have solid nightly wrap-up shows.

Same with NHL Network, great coverage and NHL Live recap every night. Their highlights are just like you'd watch on your computer, just clips from the winning teams announcers/broadcast, no talking, nothing, during the highlight other than the broadcasters.

Love it.

Especially since ESPN doesn't even know hockey exists so they lose that entire sports fanbase.

Honestly, I really only watch ATH, PTI, and College game day plus live events.

I will say ESPN's coverage of the World Cup is pretty top notch.

Everything else, other than SVP radio is shite.

I will gladly watch any thug POS the NFL network puts on their game day shows before I ever watch chris berman and his tired old schtick.

Other than that, frick that. Nothing but bias and stories I don't give a shite about.
