intredasting... tell me more about all those 4th quarter comebacks we had last year...

We didn't have any fourth quarter "comebacks" because, to come back, you have to be losing. The only time all year we were losing in the 4th quarter was the UF game. Against both Bama & Clempson it was them coming back against us.

And as to "we don't pass in the 4th quarter," that's an interesting argument considering that the very last offensive play LSU ran all last season was a 4th quarter pass which fooled everybody and would have sealed the game, except Mettenberger inexplicably threw it away. This is literally the most recent play run by the LSU offense.

What's wrong with this? We have a huge O-line and a good stable of backs...

and then he said this

One last thing Miles was asked is who will be calling the plays on offense now that his close friend Cameron is coordinator.

“The offensive coordinator. He calls the plays every year,” Miles said. “But I promise you there’s a guy (um, Miles) on the headphones who says, ‘Don’t do that one,’ or, ‘OK, that’s good.’

“But I don’t call a play,” Miles said before breaking into that Miles grin.

As expected, when it comes to the offense, Miles still reigns supreme.

Miles changing LOL

What it comes down to is, some LSU fans want a Mike Leach or Chip Kelly offense for purely aesthetic purposes. It really has nothing to do with wins or losses, it's because those offenses look cool and are more fun. The anti-Les folks would be more credible if they just said that, rather than pretend that it has to with wins.

As a side, I totally understand and kind of agree with this attitude. I would love to have Chip Kelly's offense. But Chip Kelly aint' walking through that door.

Oregon, West Virginia, TexA&M, and Ole Miss all have one thing in common....

They've all lost to LSU in the last 24 months.

The BCSNC has not finished in the Top 60 of Pass Offense (ypg) since 2007, LSU #58.

Lsu offense has sucked the last 3 years. If not for the defense we wound have lost many more games. I hope Cam can do wonders as we sure need it!

And this exact attitude by the coach has also been responsible for some of the ugliest football by a high profile program in NCAA histor

True dat. Victories are ugly.

Suck the fun out of it and just try to get a W, yeah that's a great recipe for exciting football.

True again. Getting the W is no fun. Losing is way more exciting.

I hear you, it would be so nice to have a head coach who wasn't involved in the game plan.

The offense has suffered from a lack of talent at QB and a very simplistic and unimaginative offense.

Which was the cause of those losing seasons.

You have to realize that most of the Rant never played high school or college football in their lives. They fail to comprehend that poor QB play limits your play calling.

A freshman clarinet player can contribute much easier than a 1st year QB or lineman.
Bet Les' football resume is more impressive than any of his critics here. Can you imagine Les telling them how to march?

I would think Cameron will make all the O decisions. 4th down attempts would probably need Mile's go ahead.
