Well if LSU were better Alabama would have 2. Alabama being awesome gives LSU 3.

If LSU was in the top ten and Alabama wasn't it would be 2-2. Not thier fault. Florida not in top ten surprises me though, in terms of top ten caliber teams its 4-2 LSU (considering LSU and UF top ten caliber) for what it's worth, 5-2 if TCU has a year like some predict

Furthermore, you're LSU. You shouldn't be complaining about tough schedules because you're supposed to be a "big dog" in this conference.

Yeah, because there is no such thing as being worn down by playing tough game after tough game.

Add +1 to them both for the eventual eastern division champ

So...was it an issue when BAMA faced that slew of teams coming off a bye week a couple of years ago, or not? Despite being a "big dog", there sure seemed to be an awful lot of complaining coming from houndstooth nation.

Of course, that complaining was met with a new rule addressing it by the conference. Should we all hold our breath for this issue?

What about Arkansas, Auburn, Mississippi State, Vanderbilt, Missouri, Tennessee, and Kentucky?
All the above schools with the exception of Tennessee, support the permanent opponent rule because it insulates them from playing Florida or LSU more often.

They would rather LSU and Florida play each other every year in order to become bowl eligible more often, and Bama supports the idea because they like the idea of winning the SEC West by beating Tennessee every year.

Expected Preseason Top 25 teams on LSU's 2013 schedule: SIX - (4 ON THE ROAD)
@TCU, Florida, @Ole Miss, @Georgia, Texas A&M, @Alashama. Possibly @MSU.

Expected Preseason Top 25 teams on Shama's 2013
schedule: THREE - (1 ON THE ROAD)
Ole Miss, @Texas A&M, LSU.
Possibly Va.Tech and MSU.

As unfair as it might seem, it is also used as a huge recruiting tool.

You will play Bama every year!

You will play Florida every year!

You will play Georgia every year!

You will play South Carolina every year!

Who gives a $%#@ about Texas A&M. Just another one year wonder!!

It's been my impression that a team of LSU's caliber looks at the schedule and says "next". With a great head coach and top of the line talent, it doesn't matter who LSU plays. LSU can win.

Let Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee, and Georgia keep their permanent opponents. Everyone doesnt. It can be done. It just make scheduling tougher but that is why we have computers.

Old old old.time to move on.
Les has made a good/his case. Spurrier kind of concurred with only wanting to count division games.
Bama, UGA, TN, and AU aren't complaining.
Nobody else cares. Next year BAMA will have FL and LSU will get MO, KY or Vandy . Equals out over time.
It was said about UGA for several years. Didn't have to play ARK, AU, BAMA, or LSU (but that was when AR and AU were up there, now that would be consider weak if they had AU and AR.
