I'd rather have a batshit crazy crew like dell and Monty than have Jeff "you got anymore of them donuts" bower and George Shinn

@Tiger- there will be a celebration/discussion thread I will make if we get him. Nothing stupid, just a place to hear reactions and talk about the signing

could you imagine if the oden turns out to be good on the pels and we use the POISON PILL to get paul George after getting rid of EG.

I don't think you know what the POISON PILL means... George is going to get as big a deal as Indy will be able to sign him to. There is no "poison pill" on a max/near max player.

indy won't be able to match our POISON PILL. Paul George is a pels lock

You obviously have better things to do with your Friday nights than get trolled by Pelicans bloggers on PT.

@SpearsNBAYahoo: Just Kings & Pelicans scheduled to watch injury-riddled free agent C Greg Oden workout & rehab in hometown of Indy Tuesday, source tells Y!

I know he visited Dallas, Miami, and SA, but did he not work out for them? Miami only has the taxpayer MLE, but does SA have the full MLE available (kind of looks to me that they gave Belli the room level, so I'm leaning towards no)? They could have given him a physical and made an offer without watching him workout, and he could be using more offers (from us and Sacramento) to drive up what they'll pay him.

If he looks OK physically, I really hope we offer a guaranteed 2nd year to sweeten the pot, and hopefully squeeze in a team option 3rd year. I really don't see that guaranteed 2nd year having any negative effect on our FA even if he doesn't play, so why not.

I'm starting to get behind this idea as well. If he gets hurt again, he is going to retire and void his contract anyway.

No. They used their MLE on Beli and Pendergraph. If he wants more than the minimum and Miami picks up someone like Camby, then it's down to us and the Kings if money is at all a factor.

Deadspin says it's down to Heat and Spurs but says he is working out for us this week. Not putting much stock into this.

He certainly could be using us to try and squeeze the taxpayer MLE out of the Heat. If we aren't in the mix there's no way the Heat offer much more than the minimum. The question is, if they don't bite what does he do?

ETA: just read the link, that's not an article with new news, it's a regurgitation of the ESPN report from yesterday. Still, Oden very well could be using us.
