Positions don't matter. They just don't. Especially with this lineup

Well, I could understand the market being small if there was threat that he could just walk for nothing after the season, but he still has two seasons left on his current deal. If they are going to get what they want for him this off season, they may as well ignore his requests until after the season.

ETA: after thinking about it and looking at contracts I could see Portland ignoring his request and then looking to make a play for Parsons next off season. It would make sense for both parties as Houston could see if they could win with their current lineup or if they need to make changes. And Portland could use the season to attempt to sway Aldridge back to Portland. I think Houston would be more willing to part with Parsons after next season because he would only have 1 season left on his current deal and there is pretty much no way that they would be able to resign him (assuming he is a 9-11mil a year player).

I like this idea.

Better chance of the Statue of Liberty doing an about face and pissing over the Brooklyn Bridge than AD being traded for Aldrich.

When recruiting Howard to Houston, the front office told him that they were willing to pay the luxury tax to contend.

And I don't know that there's a significant difference between Batum and Parsons besides their contracts (which is significant right now).

Was thinking a few weeks ago, a trade like:
Houston gets: Aldridge
Portland gets: Asik, Ryno
Pelicans get: Parsons

could be a trade that makes all three teams better, especially Portland. They'd be a SG away from being legit. Salaries come very close to working as well.
