My brother and I were talking about this the other day. Instead of striving for excellence where the trajectory would be scattered with people who didn't quite make it to the top, but successful, make everything "fair", sameness, everybody dumb as a rock.

Yeah, just read every thread about GM/TM and watch Foxnews. All are examples of white people telling blacks how to act so they don't get killed by white people. Here's a few that I gathered:

1. Stop looking suspicious (what does suspicious look like?)
2. Stop wearing hoodies (not sure how this helps)
3. Stop shooting each other (what does this have to do with GZ/TM)
4. Stop being agressive

Last one is pretty good advice, though. Not a bad idea to treat everyone as if they're packing.

since you can't legislate "respect your fellow man," having to deal with this possibility is a workable proxy

How about we just fold all of these into: If you demand respect, you have to give respect.

This goes for all races and ages, and would probably have saved Trayvons life.

Hahaha! Just figured I'll give the OP what he wants. How am I doing? I thought about just giving the OP a history lesson but I doubt he would listen so I decided to give him some Rachel Jeantel attitude

Do you have a strong fear of being killed by a white person? Doesn't experience tell you that is very unlikely?

Have you looked at the stats, who's committing the gun homicides in this Country? Hint: They're not White, Tea Party, NRA belonging Christians.

where have you gathered these from?

i will say that it's hard to define what makes one person look suspicious to another person. that is just a side issue here. the real issue for me is that Trayvon being pegged as suspicious didn't get him killed. Him being followed by GZ didn't get him killed. Him hiding in the bushes didn't get him killed.

what got him killed was after he had found a hiding place in the dark on a rainy night he chose to jump out and attack someone who was packing a pistol.

That even if there isn't any evidence, Al Sharpton has the power to get you charged with a crime.

Don't EVER start a fight with someone in Florida (or any other states that has self-defense laws that don't require you to run) unless you're prepared to die.

People think that the law shouldn't apply if enough others want that person to be guilty.

re: What has the GZ/TM situation taught you?

We tried that. We went through the "yes sir masta" era with blacks being respectful and where did that get us...turned into strange fruit.

Southern trees bear a strange fruit,
Blood on the leaves and blood at the root,
Black bodies swinging in the southern breeze,
Strange fruit hanging from the poplar trees.

Pastoral scene of the gallant south,
The bulging eyes and the twisted mouth,
Scent of magnolias, sweet and fresh,
Then the sudden smell of burning flesh.

Here is fruit for the crows to pluck,
For the rain to gather, for the wind to suck,
For the sun to rot, for the trees to drop,
Here is a strange and bitter crop.

Perpetual victim. You'll fit right into the "community."

I don't give a rats arse if you hold on to slavery for the rest of your life, just means more opportunity for success to those who don't.

Go back and look at the pictures of the "justice for Trayvon" signs....many are distributed by far left fringe groups.

Strawman.....and again, throwing racism into the mix to inject emotion into a logical debate.

You sound absolutely furious that some people expect you to view a trial on live television and form a logical opinion on the facts of the case without resorting to emotional appeals.

This is why they will be the downfall of their own people. It is pathetic and disgusting what they have allowed themselves to turn into.

White people will sell out a white thug POS without a care in the world....its called living in a civilized society.

I have also learned that no matter what every problem they have is someone elses fault.

Racial profiling is bad also....maybe if they profiled each other less would be victims of shootings.
