Isn't it possible that May sees Manziel going down the same path and wants Manziel to realize it?

Seems possible.

If that's the case, he should qualify his statements with his own experiences instead of appearing to stare down his nose at JFF.

Exactly.

But unlikely. If that is his goal though then he is doing a shitty job expressing it.

Listen guys...Poor JFF has a lot of pressure in his life! This kid has it rough, and partying is his one escape...And when I say pressure, I mean the 10,000 PSI on his face, from all that acne, ready to blow

While it's true that May has always been a douche and is coming off as self righteous and hypocritical here, he's still right.

ETA: about this one thing.

I don't disagree that he has a point.

Speaking of ESPN they need to have Nelly on First take more often, hell they should replace Skip with him

That Manziel is "shaming the game"?

I think the kid is overrated and he will have a down year, but he is just partying in the offseason. Just about every football player in the country is doing that. The only difference is that Manziel has the fame and money to do it better than them.

I may get crushed for this but I can't help but love Football Johnny. If I had fame and money and was 20 I'd be doing the same thing. It's not like he's committing serious crimes or anything, just a kid having fun.

Just after Mark May tweeted about Manziel shaming the game, a poster named DRE06 on TexAgs dug up a story that Mark May was arrested in 1979.

Hi guys.

From an incident that occurred just a few years ago? Yes. From an incident that occurred 34 years ago? No.

While you may be right in a sense, Mark May never win the heisman.

Yep.

Manziel is in a MUCH bigger spotlight than May ever was being he's the Heisman Trophy winner.

But I guess Aggie fans don't want to look it from that perspective.

One could argue that his conduct merits stripping him of the Heisman...

not really. may would be a hypocrite if he was currently doing the same things. telling someone not to do something because you have past experience doing similar things and you understand how stupid it was does not make one a hypocrite.

So should just stay in his house and not do anything?

Its grown men in the media that decide to follow a 20 year old kid on twitter, and then hang on every little word or action he makes.

With literally millions of people eyeing his every step, it is physically impossible to go unscrutinized.

He took a freaking family trip with his mom and dad and played golf, and was scrutinized for that. They did a special segment on ESPN during the offseason on his golf game and whether its "fair" that his family can afford to do fun things. Its pathetic.

And look like a fool doing so.

Please describe what specific things he has done to strip him of the Heisman.

He hasn't been arrested. there are no charges or accusations that he has broken any law.
