No, but be fair, "the best laid plans of mice and men". For example, they apparently offered Hurd (TN verbal), Cook (FL verbal), etc, etc. Having said that, IF Fournette were to announce to somewhere else (hypothetically), they would go after a Mixon big time...a guy who is not committed and I'm not sure LSU has even offered. LSU is in perfect position to show someone a depth chart with few names on it and remind them that they run the football more than most.

Add in the fact that year in and year out LSU is a powerhouse in the best conference in the country, and sorry, I find it impossible to believe they would not either get a decommit from someone or one of the best uncommitted. Like I said, all hypothetical but anyone who really believes it will be Fournette or no one really hasn't followed recruiting for very long. These musical chairs happen all the time with the domino effect obvious. Let's even say Fournette committed to Alabama...anyone honestly think Scarbrough would remain committed to them? I don't...he would decommit the next day. Also, Racean Thomas is still out there uncommitted.

I seriously doubt it. Dynamics change when other players are in the mix. IMO, one reason, some of the other RBs around haven't considered LSU that much is that Fournette is supposed to come to LSU. BTW, that theory is not just mine but something like 43 out of 44 predictions on 24/7.

I understand you hate alabama, but let's not go that far, both schools have huge names left on the board and if history is an indicator both schools will land huge names in the end

Fournette won't affect Bo, he's expecting to start out at WR

Let me be clear, I think fournette is 100% going to Lsu, but if he decided to move to Nepal and be a monk instead, lsu would land a quality back. The position sells itself at lsu, someone would flip

Scouts.com has him listed as a RB. Rivals had him listed as a RB until about 2 weeks ago when they switched him to athlete. ESPN and 24/7 have him listed as athlete which doesn't categorize him in any position.

They actually talking about LB for Bo @ bama.... LF won't pass up the opportunity he has here to go to freezing weather up there!! He may have a statue build for him here... Not there!!! He will be the #1 guy day one here... Not there!! His family and friends are already here or will be coming here.... Not there!! LSU has pretty damn good academics also people?? At least under Les.... Has built a very strong foundation with LF already, JP will have to pull off a miracle for him to convince LF to go ALL the way up to Michigan & play in that conference!! No chance!!! Sorry Peppers!

Michigan hosted the No. 1 tailback in the country last summer during their annual recruiting barbecue event. Six months later, Derrick Green became a Wolverine.

Could history repeat itself?

Leonard Fournette will make it back-to-back No. 1 tailbacks to attend the Wolverines' annual Barbecue at the Big House, according to Scout. The annual event, which draws several commits and targets from around the country, is July 28.

quote:

The New Orleans native is believed to favor staying close to home, but the Wolverines have popped onto his radar thanks to the recruiting efforts of Jabrill Peppers.

The nation's No. 1 cornerback, who committed to Michigan earlier this offseason, has vowed to deliver other big-time prospects to the Wolverines. He's specifically mentioned Fournette, as well as No. 1 defensive end Da'Shawn Hand and No. 2 cornerback Adoree' Jackson.

Fournette still likely is a longshot to end up in Ann Arbor, but getting him on campus is the first major step toward luring him North.

quote:

That is, after all, what happened to Green. The Virginia native was being recruited by nearly every major program in the country, but fell in love with the Wolverines and their culture while visiting during the barbecue last summer.

He committed shortly before signing day, becoming Michigan's best tailback recruit of the modern recruiting era, and is expected to compete for the starting job when fall camp opens Aug. 5.

While the presence of one No. 1 tailback could scare off another, due to playing time concerns, Peppers has tried to spin that into a positive in his pitch to Fournette.

"Derrick is one of the best young running backs in the country and with him taking reps along with Leonard they could be the best 1-2 punch in the country," Peppers wrote this week in a blog post for USA Today.

"The best part is that it would preserve him more because he's not gonna have to take on the whole load by himself. He'll get a blow and we won't lose productivity on the field. Getting those breaks will allow him to have a longer career than most running backs."
