Why does everyone think martin will play the 3 at 6'9 245?

and in the interviews, quaterman made it clear that he's a point guard so I doubt he starts opposite hickey

starting 5 to be
JOB, Hickey, Martin, Quarteman and Mickey

This will be it eventually with Odo first off the bench. JOB can play the 4 or 5 depending on lineup.

We are deep.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Pelicans and Tigers both turn it around this year!

Martin has the skillset to play the 3. He basically was Madison Preps point guard when it mattered most. The kid is a special talent

While I think Malone may surprise with getting some extra minutes. Odo will start games at center.

I think that JOB will move to center to let Mickey or Martin come in at PF to allow the other or Coleman to play SF.

Can't see Quartermann starting over Stringer unless it's a matchup advantage.

It has been since the Shaq days since I can say I was this excited and interested in LSU basketball even before football season starts. And Football back then was not what it is today.

This combination of talent has the potential to be something special if JJ can now pull them together and unselfishly as a true TEAM. Can't wait to see this year's product on the court!

He would just be getting minutes there because he's too talented to not be on the floor. It will definitely be an experiment to see if he is athletic enough to guard the other team's 3 (and I think he is, but it may be too tiring considering most SF in college are actually just SGs).

I don't think this team will run with a true "starting 5" this year. Too much depth and talent to not play 7-8 guys 25 minutes a game. Also, so many guys that can play multiple positions out there. I believe that our ability to throw so many different looks at teams is being under-valued, and is actually going to be this teams biggest strength (even more than physical talent). When was the last time that other teams were trying to "match up" against LSU rather than LSU trying to match up against other teams. Really excited about this year, and I wouldn't be surprised to see this team in the sweet 16 with a couple of favorable matchups early in the tourney.

This really has the early feel of a good "program" that is being built rather that just having a good team every few years. I am pumped about this year and the future of Tiger basketball.
