No discipline
I served in the Marines, which happens to be one of the most disciplinary organizations in the world. Guess what... guys got into trouble all the time, and it certainly wasn't because we weren't being disciplined or weren't living in a controlled environment. There were Marines that went out and got into trouble no matter what, and THEY KNEW what the consequences would be. We ALL did. Some guys are just going to mess up no matter what, and blaming the person in charge is not the answer in most cases. JH has some growing up to do. It is as simple as that. It certainly isn't Miles fault. What do you want LM to do? Throw him in a cell and let him out on game day? Seriously though, what would you do in his place?

Then prepare to be pissed at every coach in America. It happens everywhere and there's nothing they can do about it but try to keep it to a minimum. LSU is better than most.

2011 Starting quarterback out
2012 Arguably the most dynamic defender/player in the country from 2011 is out
2013 Emerging star RB is possibly out

I think it stings more because all of these guys were key players

2012 would have been a different season with TM7

And that's no one's fault but his own.

He liked the high from pot better than the high from winning football.

Some people mature faster than others. TM7 and JH are two examples.

What happened though? Did he throw one punch so you decided to throw 20? I hear that crap all the time. Not saying you're one of them, but plenty of people think they are innocent just because they didn't throw the first punch, which is totally wrong. There is only so much "defending" yourself you can do before it becomes assault or battery.

ur rt, we would have lost a close game to bama, finished second in the west and prob play in the sugat bowl. we would have wrecked whoever we played and bana would gave been undefeated bcs champs. then 1/9 wouldnt be brought up anymire cus the rematch never would happen in reversed roles.

Sounds personal. We don't beat Bama in Nov without him. He brought something to the team- no matter how you feel about him.

Who gives a shite what happens at any other schools? As an LSU fan, I am ONLY concerned with LSU. It gives me no solace to know that LSU is like a lot of other schools in this regard

it does matter. you only know ab LSU problrms. So you think only LSU has problems. in reality, most high profile athletes have some incident on their record. they all think they are above the law. Look at the nfl. its git major issues rt now. And it only started to do so when goodell actually started comung down on it. because everyone just turned a blind eye in years past.

Also wuth sicial media and camera phones, you hear ab things more. shit, none of this was around under saban or before. Players were bad under nick also. smoked weed, got in bar fights, got in brawls on campus. There just wasnt tiwitter and LSU git facebook in 2004. TD was nothing like it is now. without td, most of yall wouldnt know uf a player git arrested. and since our team used to suck, eson and ither spirts outlets never reported on LSU. no one gave a shite if our players got in troubke because we blew.

So we win mire than we ever had, thanks to miles. we are now on tv a lot more, thanks to miles. so we get scrutinized by the media a lot more because of the winnung. we win because we recruit great players. great players then get huge egis because if the tv time and because fans like the ones on this site suck the players dicks and treat them like celebrities. then they wonder why some players act the way they do.

I cant sit here and bkame Les because some kud git into a fight and another smoked pot. Btw, none if thus is against NCAA rules. Its LSU rules. If we didnt have certain rules, rp and tm7 never would have been kicked off. maybe we have one more bcs championship, but then wed probably have way mire players arrested. Like 41 instead of a handful.

You blaming Miles for the transgressions of an 18 yr old testosterone filled football player shows a severe lack of critical thinking.

Are you fricking serious with this shit? I've told you 6 fricking times already. In the eyes of the court, the original charge is gone, disappeared, doesn't exist. Any judge that would bring that up would be removed.

From what I've learned today, you've repeated bad information six times (although I'll take the blame for some of it, because I worded it poorly by asking if the original charge mattered...It would have been more appropriate to ask if the entire case mattered, or just the plea the case resulted in).

I ran into some attorney friends and they told me that a judge and attorney can indeed consider all the facts surrounding a case when considering how to handle a probation violation, not just the plea itself.

The prosecutor has all the right in the world, I'm told, to argue that the plea was a lenient deal for the defendant based on facts surrounding the case. Those facts can be brought up again in reviewing how to handle the probation violation and can indeed be factors in deciding whether probation is revoked.

And, of course, the judge is not only allowed to consider this, but that's exactly what their discretion is about. It's about reviewing the conditions that led to the plea and reviewing the probation violation.

There are two different things. They can't use his violation of probation as a reason to change his punishment to something that's more than appropriate for what he plead to. They can't turn this into a sexual assault case again.

But they CAN use ALL THE FACTS of the case to determine whether he should serve the maximum penalty, the minimum penalty or anything in between, for the offense he plead to.

That's an important distinction to make.

Maybe we're not being clear with each other but the facts of the original case are always in play as long as you're on probation. They just can't mention the actual original charge.

Yup.

That's the key here. It's clear, from the statements from the ADA, that she thinks Hill got a lenient deal, or at least that's my impression.

Now, will the judge agree with that? That's a whole other story. But I do think Hill could be in a bind here. Not wishing it on him, but if it was a lenient deal and he violated probation on it, then he could have a hard time of it.

Everyone keeps referring to these individuals as kids. These individuals are considered as "majors" not "minors" under the law. They can sue and be sued. These are individuals who lack morals and standards.
