It has run its course.

Mmmmm. Perhaps. But when watching the game at Legends in NYC, it's a rush. the dude (a former band member, I'm told) nails the sound / songs throughout the game. And this is one of them.

Youtube (and other internet video sites) appear to have taken down the video that they show at Tiger Stadium. This one, which is a live performance at (I think) Jerry World or the old Cowboy Stadium, is closest in terms of the sound.

This one isn't as good as the original, but still entertaining.

They played it in the late 90s when I was in Tigerband.
In 97 or 98, Garth Brooks played a a few concerts the weekend of the Spring Game at the PMAC. The one I attended, and probably all the others, he wore a white LSU football Jersey with #7 and BROOKS on the back.* He recorded a live album on that tour, and the live version of Callin' Baton Rouge was recorded that weekend at the PMAC.
*I'm sure he wore a jersey of the team of the place he was playing everywhere he went.

Nothing like a country song about a woman to get you pumped up to play a football game. Good grief. The song is horrible.
agreed, it's garbage.
can only imagine what the majority of the players think of it.
