I had a funny conversation at dinner with some doctors the other day where they were joking about how they can say pretty much anything they want (medically related) and people almost always blindly accept it.

I know people, me included, who have eaten bad food and got the fever, chills, nausea, etc within 2 hours. One I know had to be hospitalized 2 hours after eating bad chicken. He was taken from his office in an ambulance. The 12 hr thingy is BS.

Geez, most people wouldn't think that a doctor would make up a bunch of bullshite concerning their health. Please tell me these doctors' names so I can avoid them.

Only other time I've gotten food poison was as a teenager from the place in central that used to be central grill (I think, credit union now). I was sick as hell within an hour & it lasted for a couple days. Definitely wasn't a 12 hour wait time for that food to eject itself.

Per Mayo Clinic

"Signs and symptoms may start within hours after eating the contaminated food, or they may begin days or possibly even weeks later. "

12-24 hours is crazy talk. Maybe some clinical definition of a blood borne infection derived from food. Eat some rancid meat and see if you get ill closer to 1 hour or 24 hours. Smart money is on 30 minutes.

That 12-24 nonsense is the exact figure any doctor will tell you is the case(I am giving that advice from my moms(doctor) mouth and she was in care of the State health dept whichaurant oversees restsaurants(food poisioning outside the home)

I had an ER doctor tell me 8 hours for food poisoning hitting you. Nobody knows for sure.

8 hours exactly for me with a hot sausage poboy from Rocco's.

About 2 hours leading up to it I knew it was coming...even got myself home just in time for the floodgates to open.

I thought I was dying.

Most types of food borne illness has an incubation time of a minimum of 6 hours. The most common, E. coli and salmonella are typically around 8-12 hours. There is a transferable form of staph that can happen shortly after ingesting the product.

Food poisoning doesn't last for days. When it hits you you puke and shite it out within hours.

Get yourself a few bad raw oysters, and lets time that 6 hour minimum speaking from experience i took turns looking like the scene from Dumb & Dumber, and the Exorcist projectile vomiting WAY within 6 hours. Didnt know if I should kneel or sit. Was back and forth.
