So they can't plan to resign Landry or Jack now?

They could always resign both with Bird Rights, there was just a question of whether they wanted to pay the luxury tax.

Golden State drops out of the Dwight Howard chase, clearing the way for long-standing frontrunner Houston to close with the free agent star.

We still don't know what they took back if anything dumping $18 million in Biedrins and Jefferson, but if they didn't take back much they may have enough cap space to keep both Landry and Jack. GS could very well be same team + Iggy. We'll have to see how it all shakes out.

So Warriors are probably getting better but Denver is losing Iggy and Gallinari is out injured. Utah also looks like it has hopped in the tank by taking on bad contracts.

Wow. Denver is in trouble. That's a team needing Javale to become an all star caliber C to get in the playoffs. Good news for NO.

The one team we didn't mention is Minnesota. If they are healthy, they could be better than the Pels. Rubio, Love, Pekovic with Ridnour, Shved, Budinger, KMart, Shabazz, and Deng rounding out the rotation is a solid lineup.

I think we can say pretty comfortably that Memphis, LAC, SAS, and OKC will all be better than us. It'd take our dream season and no little injury luck to finish better than GS and Houston. Even assuming Hou lands Howard if they trade away Asik and Lin and Howard plays like he did last year I think it's JUST possible we nip them.

But that's not likely at all. Most likely we're fighting for the 7-8 seed against Denver, Portland, Minnesota, and Dallas

Houston will not make the playoffs. He couldn't play in LA with Kobe, what makes you think it will work with Harden and the Rockets?

in the west only im assuming.

def better
OKC
SAS
GSW
LAC

little better:
MEM
DEN
HOU (without Howard)

about even:
MIN
POR

little weaker:
DAL
UTAH
PHX

a lot weaker:
LAL (without howard)
SAC

if Houston gets Howard, they will be def better. if the Lakers get him they will be about the same/little better.

i think the LAL are a 13/14 seed right now, they have no one.. kobe is out for a while, howard probably gone, gasol on the end of his rope, nash on 1 leg, and no bench.

Can we petition for a move to the east? Not only is it wide open after the Nets, Heat, Pacers, Knicks, and Bulls but it's also a much older conference with the exception of SAS in the west. Could be wide open for a team like the hornets in a few years but the wizards or cavs will probably fill that void as is

Things can change quickly. Once upon a time, CP/Tyson/West were supposed to be the next WC power

won't happen. they moved us to even out the conferences and being as we're the closest to the EAST/WEST line, in the EC, we got screwed. we used to have subpar teams make the top 5 in the EC when baron davis was here, because the conference was so mediocre.
