Great read. Greer is a pretty talented writer, who should have a long career in the media after his football days are over.

So forgive me if I sound the trumpet of preseason enthusiasm. It was out of tune for a year, in the shop being repaired. This year holds no promise of a better timbre for the orchestra that is the Saints; but now, in our coach, we have our first chair back, and he has brought in a badass sax player in defensive coordinator Rob Ryan, some new songs and some new steps.

I could see him doing something that has nothing to do with football once he hangs up his cleats. Maybe even a writer; that story was impressive.

Each summer in the searing sun of southern Louisiana, 90 men leave their individual life behind and dream of becoming one. The goal is simple: forsake yourself for the fortune of group, rise above the immediate trials of the time, and become timeless. The summer progresses, the heat intensifies and the number of men sacrificing together dwindle; and although your body tires, your resolve must strengthen. This is the life of a New Orleans Saint preparing for the season, and if you are one of the 53 few chosen, this is the place you want to be.
This gave me chills.

What was not told in the headlines or on the news, however, was the spirit of our men in the locker room. Experiencing an unprecedented ordeal in the history of the NFL, our men never wavered. Although our spirit wasn't reflected in the final score of nine of our games, we endured Goliath's wrath last season, and now Goliath has to pay.
It moved.

I liked it, but that was a little to flowery for me usually.

Jabari's a pretty intellectual guy. His blog he did a while back was filled with stuff you really had to think about.

of all of the things I have read this off season - this article by Jabari has me more stoked for the season than any other.

I hope you shart yourself right after you meet up with friends (IF you have any yah stupid guy), and the restroom is being clean, and you have to drink cosmos, sitting in your goosh like a bitch.

For a guy that spends more time on a Saints board than most Saints fans, I don't think you're that upset about it.

wasn't a bad article - just not sure why Peter King is getting old/current saints players to do his work for him on a regular basis lately?
That's a regular Tuesday.

Because Roddy is working on his novel and wasn't available.

I hope you're walking up the steps in your house in the dark and you think there's one more step so your foot comes down hard and you get all disorientated.
