The re-enactment was great, our unit made the wall.Seeing the large numbers on the field is an awesome experience when you are in the middle of it. However, we did lose again.

If Longstreet and Lee had listened to Hood about Devil's Den, it probably would have ended differently.

Still not sure what Sickles thinking when he left Cemetery Ridge toward the Peach Orchard. I stood n the spot and they were very exposed and open to any kind of attack.

My Great Great Great Grandfather was killed at Gettysburg. Noone knows what day, but he was in the 26th North Carolina. They took the most casualties of any Regiment Confederate or Union at Gettysburg, they also were one of the last to break ranks during Pickett's Charge in which they advanced the furthest..

So I take it your a reenactor? How jealous I am sir. Do y'all ever just consider saying f history and splitting that union line like its nobodies business?

Maybe. We still had shitty ground. If lee wouldn't have been so cautious the first day, understood your whole army wasn't there yet, but we could have attained cemetery hill and culls hill.

I really don't know. Obviously different. I'd like to think less government involvement. Slavery would have been out of the picture long ago.

Yep, been a doing for about 20 years. As to the second question, yes again, we joke about it, but when the time comes we stay true to the history.
However it is fun to do Battles like Mansfield were we break the lines and they skedaddle!

That's awesome. How does someone even get into that? Just start accumulating old gear?
