I really enjoyed the show. Very conservative here but I understood the slant they were making with this show and went along. I hope they explore more media driven/ignored topics. I'd be anxious to see how/if they handle the Trayvon Martin story, especially if they address how TM was portrayed vs GZ. I know the Romney campaign is going to be a big story line.

hate that pompous show, but alas I will probably watch to punish myself and watch how ridiculously bad and blatant it becomes.

I tried watching it too, and it was absolute garbage. I thought it was heavily liberal and they clearly aren't trying to appeal to anyone else who isn't progressive.

Treme tells me that NOLA is God's gift to man. Every character is so self righteous too.

I watch Treme. It's not great, but it's not bad. Plus one of my old high school buddies has a small recurring role so I like to watch for her each week.

So did I. Does that mean you are supposed to be a tree hugging hippie liberal?

I tried watching it last year but gave up after a few episodes because it was so heavy handed, so full of itself.

That live rant by Jeff Daniels in the first episode that everybody raves about was so forced and ridiculously melodramatic that I shut it down immediately and haven't gone back to it since.

this

And we TRIED to like it b/c we're big fans of Jeff Daniels and Sam Waterston.

FWIW, we're politically moderate

That rant was awesome and deserves all of the praise it gets.

Me too. Love both of those guys, especially Waterston. I thought I'd watch anything he was in. Clearly I was wrong.

I definitely think the show is self-important.

Some of the characters are absurd too.
The blonde girl thinks LOL means "lots of love."
The Indian kid basically talks about nothing but Bigfoot.

I watched the whole first season. Show had potential, but it is Terrible. Acting/ldialogue are forced and unrealistic, and overall the show and characters just take themselves way too seriously.

I really hate the way the characters interact...it's just so silly and unbelievable IMO.

The politics don't bother me at all...I just think the show sucks regardless if they did the same show flipped the other way (attacking the left).

I've known several people who thought that. Everyone isn't aware of internet lingo.

The show has potential...a good start to fixing it would be to eliminate the producer and the blonde assistant characters all-together. Those two characters pretty much single-handedly make the show a crapfest IMO.

The producer is awful...her character is so fake and corny and out of touch with reality.

I've never met anyone in their 20's who thought that.
Not to mention she works for the media.
