The flip side was a (superior) song called "Cheryl's Going Home" that quite a few acts cut. My favorite cover is by The Blues Project

Here's a couple from the late 80s from some folks who were formally with other bands...

Debbie Harry - Brite Side (first used on the TV show Wiseguy the season she was a recurring character... Later released on her solo album)

The Graces - Lay Down Your Arms (a few of the Go-Go's made an album or 2 sans Belinda Carlisle... who later recoded her own version of this song)

Just an echo, yoo-hoo (ribbit, ribbet)
In the valley, yoo-hoo (ribbit, ribbet)
That will bring back sweet memories
Of you! (ribbit, ribbet)

Iona

So continuing with the them from my above post - Here's early Shirley Manson and her other band: Angelfish - Suffocate Me

Butch Vig saw this on 120 Minutes and decided that he had found the front woman for his new band project... Garbage.

ETA:

Here's another vid from Angelfish: Heartbreak to Hate

troubl, it seems to me that I recall reading something you posted about one of your past lives. I cannot compete with you in the music arena.

Another popular song from when I was in HS from a group I never heard of again:

The Cyrkle "Red Rubber Ball"

mauser, thanks for "Toast and Marmalade for Tea". I haven't heard that in many years. Good memories.

I heard this song for the first time in April 1969 as a 17 year old HS senior on a trip to France. We were on a bus trip from Paris to Normandy.

Mary Hopkin "Those Were the Days"

It was on the charts when we came back.
