re: Anneliese Michel EXORCISM audio

Very surprised at the number of people in this thread that believe in possession, demons, and devils.

Know a priest that lives in Lafayette.

Yep. Great guy except for the whole being an Irish fan. But I guess he can have a pass on that one.

I'm not surprised. ~200 years of rationalism vs 100,000 years of superstition.

Did you go to catholic school?

I did and my English teacher was the brother of one of the priest that performed the exorcism of the young boy the Exorcist is based on.

Absolutely freaky shit, he told us about.

Just because this motherfrickers's a priest, doesn't mean he's above being called out on his bull shite.

I thought the Exorcism was based off a boy in St. Louis and she was the basis for "The Exorcism of Emily Rose".

This seems more factually accurate than the OP. Creepy audio, though.

Yeah. There are plenty of priest that shouldn't be trusted.
Just because they're a priest doesn't make them infallible. That's just the pope.

I have noticed a common thing among religious leaders of various denominations, is that they believe in it, and warn you to stay away from any attempts at "communicating" with the supernatural, maybe it's a job security ploy

I don't get the joke.

There is a lot of belief in what may be creeping in shadows by a lot of people in here, and I think you actually examined the shadow without letting your mind "fill in the blank," you'd see there really wasn't anything there.

okay I chuckled...just a bit

but to add some freak shite to this thread here we go...

couple of things about the incident with the young boy...

The exorcism took several years and several tries. At one point the family was put up in a 3 story hospice style care center and the floor on which the kid was roomed was always bitterly cold no matter what they tried.

the young boy would have long sessions of convulsion and would vomit up just about anything, blood (enough for several people) and feathers I particularly remember

the kid could speak 7 languages, most of which he had no exposure to including Latin, which is a classic symptom and one that usually leads to the sanctioning of an exorcism by the Church

carry on

I've always wanted to know about the speaking different languages. I've heard some recording before where they claim someone is speaking Latin, but it turns out to be an attempt at speaking their native language under distress. It ends up sounding like Latin since so many words are derived from Latin.
