He's just talking about TD in general, we know we get plenty of love.

I found that statement kind of odd too...

Maybe he's talking about the rant or OT??

It's more about "boring lagers,"

Pulled a sample of my praline porter tonight. Gravity is steady at 1.022. Lots of pecan flavor. To get an idea of what the final beer will taste like I added a few drops of vanilla extract to the sample.

not bad

That sounds nice!

I made a yeast starter on Wednesday to use today for a batch. Well turns out I can't brew today, how long with this starter last? Can I just put it in the fridge?

Your starter will be fine. If you are brewing tomorrow then just leave it on the counter. If you aren't brewing in the next few days you can put it in the fridge. I suppose if you want to stall the fermentation of the starter you could put it in the fridge now, but I would be inclined to let it ferment out before doing that.

Sorry, misread. Just put it in the fridge if you aren't brewing soon

I'd put it in the fridge, then when you want to use it, pour off the top layer, leaving some liquid to swirl up the yeast on the bottom, bring up to room temp and pitch.

Do want. I've got a grrapefruit tree in my yard and plan on using it for an IPA soon.
How'd you incorporate the grapefruit? Or are you just using hops to get the grapefruit flavor?

Guess I'll mash some grains......

Finally have rid my system of plastic entirely...The last piece was the tube from the false bottom to the valve. Found a Flexible Stainless water heater line.

Probably use 5 whole grapefruits cut in half and added to secondary. Squeeze them a little when I pull them out.

What kind of tubing is that ZS?

Brewed an all Citra IPA today. That's 2 brews in 3 days. Need to get another one in soon as well.

Silicone tubing I bought from MoreBeer.com....about $2.50 a l.f. but well worth it. Easier to clean and it doesn't discolor and it's heat tolerant to 500 degrees.

Brought a keg of a pale ale I did a few months ago to my tailgate this week.

Had good reviews, even though it wasn't as cold as most would like. I put the keg in my mash tun so I could ice it up and it worked really well. I should have put the keg in my keggerator prior to going out so it was already cold. Live and learn.

Yea I wish I had taken a picture with it all iced down out there, but once I got to tailgating, all thought processes cease to exist and I just was in party mode.

Was just happy to have some decent beer at a tailgate rather than the lights. There were others who felt the same.

Always a good feeling when you see someone go for their second cup... The first cup is to try it, the second cup is cause they liked it.

Whipped up a lacto starter for a Gose we're brewing this weekend. Doesn't need to be on a stir plate right?
