Figured out my problem this morning

It's not a leak. I got a science reminder, that as a gas cools, the container it is in will be under less pressure. The psi on the regulator went down because the co2 tank got cold in the keg fridge.

Lesson learned, I guess

And just a FYI, the bottle gage on your regulator is useless until it's almost too late. It'll stay at the same level until you're just about out.

Finished up the two session brew day. Pretty excited about the funky beer we brewed. Opening up the mash tun after the 24 hr sour was a fun experience. Hopefully this will work out as planned and will make an appearance at the VIP night of wyes

My wife described it as warm pee. it was really tart, tasted pretty good actually though.

we used 60% 2 row, 15 % wheat, 13 munich and 12 sugar. came out to about 1050

I always get "cooked cream corn" smell but maybe I haven't smelled enough warm pee as of late

I went 80% 2-row, 10% oats, 5% acid, 5% caramunich , so pretty similar. I was at 1.045 after 48 hours of sour worting, then dry hopped with Citra.

I'm looking forward to making a batch for this summer, one of my favorite brews so far.

Blow back through the tube. Hard. Stir. Vorlouf. Then drain slower.

tried that several times

dumped everything into a big bucket, filled the tun with only water and nothing came out

guess the false bottom is defective?

eta: yes, yes it is. The hole in the nipple was not drilled through.

seriously, you guys, next time one of y'all tell me to test things with water before using equipment for the first time

want to know how easy brewing is?
despite having to dump my mash tun TWICE into a big bucket, make a make-shift false bottom, then going forward with the draining and sparging, I still ended up with 9 gallons of wort at 1.045. Target was 9 gallons at 1.043
