Is funny bc are one of the remaining countries that all have this stupid rule even though it has been proven that electronic devices don't affect anything. Everyone in planes in Europe leave their phones On and nothing ever happens

Some people think the rules don't apply to them.

Even if turning off cell phones is bull, it's still a company policy that she refused to follow. A ticket is a contract and she violated her end by refusing to obey company policy. Her contract was void and she was trespassing, she got exactly what she deserved.

fricking this. This is what's wrong with our society, people think the rules don't apply to them, and that they are entitled to do whatever they want. Even if you disagree with the no phones rule, that is not the time or place to protest.

That entire plane had to be late because one lady refused to follow the rules that all the other passengers were following. And I'm not a big fan of law enforcement, but I applaud them for being professionals in this case and handling the lady the best way possible.

"Watch out for the little boy" "Get the frick off me!" What a great role model.

re: Video: Woman thrown off plane for refusing to turn her phone off
The power button on my iPhone was broken to where it could not power off the phone. I flew twice a week for about 6 months with just putting it in my pocket during takeoff and landing.

While I don't believe in the policy, I at least follow it (if I have a working phone) or at least hide the phone as to not cause any tension with those sitting near me.

They should've kicked off the person filming too since they were obviously using a phone.

re: Video: Woman thrown off plane for refusing to turn her phone off
The person filming apparently had their phone on. Why was he not thrown off the plane as well?

jk

edit: beat me to it coco.

Yeah, turn off your phone when they say. It would suck to get thrown off a plane for many reasons. She acted like I expected her to act when I first heard her voice early in the video.

Agreed. But there is no justifying the whole "turn your personal electronics off" on the plane thing.

It's obviously boogey man bullshite

I've accidentally left devices on (work BlackBerry in my bag, for example) and the plane didn't crash. Ditto with my Nexus tablet, only I intentionally left it on.

Airlines need to drop this shite.

They are in the process of reviewing the effect electronics have on planes

It's about following rules and the respecting of rights of others around you.

Is there something going on in culture that people are so angry or has it been going on for decades and we now catch everything on camera?

The latter.

But the airplane rule is pretty stupid. And making a big deal out of it is more stupid.

This chick making a scene over having to turn her phone off because she's too stupid to put it down for a couple minutes is like an offensive lineman throwing a hissy fit at the ref for throwing a flag on a blatant holding penalty. You get caught, say, "OK, you got me," and move on.

One of my biggest beefs is with people who seem to be completely unaware of their surroundings and how their actions and words affect others.

re: Video: Woman thrown off plane for refusing to turn her phone off
People are given ample time and multiple warnings before it results in action such as this. This is simply an example of someone who doesn't want to be told what to do and thinks that she owns everything she surveys. I say kick her off the plane and put her on the Do-Not-Fly list for 3 months, she'll learn to comply. I'm sure she's completely oblivious to the fact that everyone else on the plane has better places to be other than watching her uppity arse getting dragged off a plane.

Typical attitude, typical result. I wonder if she did the "cobra snake head" while defiantly cursing the LEA!

the biggest LOL in all of this is that it was filmed with a cellphone.
